I made a topic about that some weeks ago.

http://www.redorchestragame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13300

However there were not too much people commenting on it

I dont think many people done have any idea what it could do when it comes to teamwork and that most commanders will give silly orders and such.

In my opinion I think its better that everyone follow a not-as-bright ordre than each man run around for him self.
IRL there where alot of inexperienced squadleaders that gave stupid orders as well and as a soldier you had to do your best to complete it.

Personally I try to follow whatever the commander is telling me, and if I think it ****s I try to advice him, if he wont listen, I team up with somebody who does.

I just hate that so many people seem to be too stupid to understand some basics of the game.

Too often I hear people yelling that they need support in an area that cannot be captured back anymore. If I tell them, they just keep yelling... wtf?

I also have to watch my team running into their own doom too often, like on K

If someone destroys the system through painting stupid stuff you should contact the admin then and he should ban that guy, the same as it works now with tkers.
I'm not sure if there is a thread/forum for admins with IPs of tkers (to ban them on every server), if there is one, well that could include stupid drawers as well.

The idea is great, but it doesn't have to be pencil drawing on the map. Perhaps a waypoint system, with numbered points able to be laid down. This could be helpful as a replacement for a lot of the voice chat calling on players to go here or there first to cap or defend. The VOIP is great to have for teamwork, but often there are a lot of players on who don't speak English. waypoints and numbering the objectives etc is a way to get around language barrier. Squad Leaders can set waypoints that are joined by lines, simpler, and standardized for all players. Yes, there will still be asshats, but for the most part I think it would be a very useful tool.

But then the group would be like some sort of large mob/riot without much organization and very very little leadership. For instance, squad leader gets people together, and tells them to go to one objective, but along the way one of the teammates sees an enemy and starts to fire and everyone joins in and rushes the guy and get ****ed into a mini battle as other enemies show up. Keeping people in a group takes discipline...discipline not to break off to attack someone and not to go your own way, and from what I've seen most RO players lack discipline.

Fun idea! I'd like to see a large O map revamp, adding features like this and taking out the lame flashing objective when something is being capped.

I wouldn't worry about people abusing it. I will draw an analogy with the artillery use in pub servers. For every legitimately good Gruppenfuhrer/KO who knows how to use arty, there are two who do not know how to use it properly, (ie are ineffective with it). Further to this, there are a host of players who do not even know how to use it. They snag the squad leader class for whatever reasons, but never use the arty, even with half the team *****ing at them with text and over VOIP.

The moral of the above story is I would approximate it to be far more likely that a SL would neglect to use the feature at all than to abuse it. Of course, this could just be the insanity talking ..
