I got the download section on my website up to speed. Hive is being uploaded right now, as soon as thats done I think I have all of the currently release maps?

A short how to guide on the Download Section.

Part 1 - Adding Download
1. Before you do anything else you need to Log In, or Register.
2. Next lets get your files ready for upload, you will need to compress your map into one of the following formats: .png, .jpg, .gif, .zip, .rar, .7z I recommend that you just use .zip, in your Windows Explorer right click on your file, and click Send To > Compress (zipped) Folder. You may also wish to upload images, they will need to be .jpg, .png, or .gif.
3. Now make sure that you are still logged in, and navigate to the Killing Floor Downloads page. Now click on Upload at the top.
4. When you visit this page for the first time you will get a Directory created message, just refresh the page, or click on the supplied link. You will see you have a few options at the top, depending on how many files you have to upload you may want to use the Four File Upload (You don't have to use all four). Regardless of what form you decide to use simply browse to the files you prepares and push the upload button. It will look like its not doing anything but I assure you that it is, just give it a few minutes depending on your file size, and upload speed.
5. Once you have your files upload click on the Add a Download at the top to return to the Downloads section. You will see a form to fill out, and that it already shows the Files you uploaded. Go ahead and fill this out and push submit. Then click on View Your Download Page, to get the link to provide. That is all there is to it. *I have to add your name to the main page before you show up. So don't worry if your not on it, you map is still in the database. I check and add names to the list several times daily.*

Part 2 - Updating a Download
1. Before you can update your map you will need to be logged in.
2. Now go back to the Downloads page, and find your map. While on your download page you will see a - Update under the Map Name, click on it to be taken to the Update page.
3. You will see a form that looks a lot like the Add form, except your current data will already be loaded in. You can change the everything that you had to enter into the Add form. Make you changes and push submit and your file will be updated instantly.

I hate to be a burden but the webpage is too bland and it is hard to see clearly where to find the actual links to files on the site...after you click on a user's name...

In my opinion a new web design is needed...

You can select multiple item by holding down and clicking on them, I don't know of a way to select all of the items in a room. There may be one. Once you get the hang of making volumes and working with Static Meshes I would try making your own Trader room.*

I agree with you it is hard. I use the View All link at the top most of the time :p I'll change it around some later today and stop it from listing the modders names list that you see initialy under the modders page. So in the image you posted there will only be the table with links to the file entries. I just get caught up in working on my own maps, and the tutorials and I push the website to the back of my mind. If you have any other suggestions as to what to do let me know.*

If needed I can provide some help possibly in helping with the website design. I do have my IC3 Certification and I did get my Webmaster Certification as well all from technical school in my senior year of High School.

and I do run my own site so I know what I am talking about...

I updated this today, with too many changes to remember. The highlights are making Downloads simpler to add, several enhancements to the first page that you see, as well as showing only the Author that you clicked on works when. The uploading page also had several fixes and enhancements done to it today.

Here is a short guide as well, it was also added to the first post.

Part 1 - Adding Download

I added another 7 files today in addition to the 15 I added last Sunday. I also made several updates to the download page. The Search function now works.*

If you have any comment or suggestions feel free to reply here, or reply to my topic here.

I like the updated version more than the past version...but now it looks like googleads is just flooded all over the place and that is causing links to blend in with it...

& sry to say such things I am just trying to help you out as a webmaster myself I tend to look for things that just dont seem right...

Hey.

Hey.

I tried upload one the other day. Got some kind of missing something error and it did not work. I filled out all the areas. I am registered. So I am not sure what I did wrong.

hmm I have a file, Silo.zip in your folder.

I don't know what day you tried, you were registered before the new upload form was added, but only by a day or so.

Because you have a folder I think you used the old form, it worked though so I'm not sure what the error was. I fixed one error on this form where it wouldn't generate a folder for you (just an oversight of mine) It should be good to go.

When you can I'd like you to try again, if you run into any errors or problems, or any feedback you have post it here, or PM it to me on my forums.
