Please, stop with this once for all. I didn't won jacket on giveaways, but I guess that person from who I bought jacket got it from there. If you guys somehow revoke it, I will lose it and I paid it honestly (6 cheapest cards, but it not worth more for me because will never wear it, but that's no matter now). Anyway I saw some threads on Steamgifts website where people are paying 1-2 TF2 keys (value 2-2.5$ each) to get this key. So stop this "which hunt". Go blame PC Gamer. Probably those codes are rest codes from non-sold magazines, so they did with it what they wanted and it's all.

This seems very highly unlikely, but everyone keeps the PCG set, but with a proof of purchase, you will gain another cosmetic skin set/weapon skin.
Call me crazy but its a idea.

I would prefer this over changing the skin, I like the skin the way it is and I would rather leave it that way.

But how could people prove that they purchased it? I highly doubt most people have the receipt lying around.

Some options that have been advanced

- all current Dosh jackets are changed or any future redemtion is changed to distinguish the two groups

- all current Dosh jackets stay the same, no more codes are ever distributed for all time by any party. All KF 2 players get a different Dosh jacket..... say one in lower case or that says money. That meets the original expectation, every player gets a bonus, those with the Original Dosh jacket have an exclusive (+ the new jacket).

- all those who purchased the magazine submit a screen shot showing date of redemption that is prior to the giveaway date. Those players are given an exclusive like a top hat that says Dosh. That meets the original expectation of the magazine promotion without affecting the jacket or any codes

Other optinons are being discussed. We are looking to do something that is reasonable for TWI to accomplish.

A screenshot of the code page would work? The shots can be sent via PM (along with email and steam account) where they will verify the codes.
Check to see if this user has the PCG set installed and send a new code to the user's email.

Yeah, that makes sense. Let the entire dev team go through thousands of shopped images because some entitled kids need their "special" jacket.

Heck, who knows if they even can verify/access that data?

Priorities.

Which is why they check the sender's steam account and code for security measures. The guys at PCG should handle the verifications :p

If TW had handled this special promo, i dont think this thread would even exist. TW has done "limited" editions before, and they did well:
Spoiler!

I dont own thw PCG set, though i do hope those who paid reach a conclusion.

This thread makes me sick.

Anyway there is a button to jump to Developer postings; I suggest late comers use that 1st.

The magazine & raffle coded are indistinguishable from one another.
"Proof of purchase" is already stated unreasonable as a course of action.

You lucky subscribers & raffle winners have 2 options -already listed by Yoshiro.
Paraphrased:
-You all get a new unique skin but Dosh jackets are gone (perhaps for future promotional use or just plain wiped out)
-or-
-TWI requests that Steam refunds your KF2 purchase (already stated as unlikely success)

Either way according to TWI this was a PR print fail between them & PCG. The jackets were intended as a multipromitional skin. The codes were to only be included in the PRINT version of the magazine and not its digital copy---this was a huge point of misunderstanding it seems & PCG made, perhaps misleading, claims to the codes' exclusivity.

So what do you all want?
Waste developer time creating a new but equally exclusive skin?
Or
Ask for a refund that affects ca. $3,240,000 in revenue... an amount that undoubtably heavily affeccts every involved party (developer, distributor, & customer) & can ultimately hurt the game.

This thread and all others like it have caused enough bad publicity by dominating forums and demanding attention that - in my opinion- TWI has already paid well more -both finacially and in public reputation- than what all 100,000 PCGs paid for their collective magazine copies (*with a free promotional KF2 Skin inside) all together.

The run down/backstory
: We created a Dosh Jacket for Mr. Foster intended as a timed exclusive that we could reuse at a later date. However during a period of time it is up to PCGamer to give out how they like (we have no input on how they distribute it to my knowledge).
[...]
Thank's for clarifying that. As it was no wrong advertisement on your side, it is enough for me when you keep the "Dosh Jacket" exclusive from now on, so no further special treatment is needed, focus on the game. ;)

PCGamer, on the other hand-side, shame on you!

Arguably it can be claimed that they originally marketed the code as exclusive to the print magazine version of PC Gamer.
[...]
indistinguishable keys
So the mistake is PCGs, and really just irreparable.

You looking into the matter as much as you have was more than I expected. If you got PCG to make a wee little official apology edited on to their old web articles, I would be completely 100% satisfied with TWI's handling of this.
(it'd also improve my disposition to PCG, though it'd still be negative.)

Then there's a new skin I have to get, but it's impossible.

Exactly. At this point, it's really just wasting time that should be spent on the Gunslinger, the Sharpshooter and all the new stuff.

I'm really happy though for the people who came to be content with the situation and are willing to let it go. Thank you guys.

Are you content?(..."Then there's a new skin I have to get, but it's impossible.
...)

No, I am not content at this point, because many people here are reasoning to change or revoke or do any harm to the Dosh jacket that I payed for. I am eagerly and stressfully waiting to see if TWI will f*** me or not.

If you bought the magazine to get the Dosh jacket, we have a group started for you on Steam

Options are being discussed.

I do not think anyone NOT PART OF TWI can say what TWI can or can not do, or how much time it will take. This is an issue that affects thousands of paying customers. We appreciate that TWI has responded and started a dialogue to find resolution. We want a reasonable resolution that meets both parties needs.

The quickest path to that resolution is to focus on the positive. Move forward and give options. Allow TWI to respond to options and say what can or can not be done.

Currently there are discussions and hopes that TWI uses this option. A option to distinguish the 2 sides. Magazines and the EPrint. Will they use that process we will see and I hope they do!

Wow I had no idea it was this easy to twist TWI's arm...

Maybe I will start calling myself a "core fan" and start a group that demands that I should get a statue of myself placed in front of TWI's office.

Nothing huge, maybe 30 foot tall marble statue of me fighting a fleshpound.

We as your "core fans" demand this TWI!

Man...

You quote Yoshiro in that steam group and yet you still put a lot of the blame on TWI and expect them to waste time with this. Go bring your picthforks to PC Gamer and let TWI focus on the game since this was a PC GAMER mistake.

Yoshiro clearly stated that they intended the Dosh jacket to be a timed exclusive. Even if they change it now, if I understand correctly, there will be yet more ways to get it (the original one) in the future.
Yoshiro also confirmed that Tripwire's core fans misunderstood the "exclusive to the print edition" part by thinking it is only once ever, whereas it meant "the digital version does not have it".

So I don't even understand what the discussion is going on about anymore and what the hell.
