A week? That steam threads been alive for three weeks. Also, your groups at 97 members, not even 100. So really, you have gathered an incredibly minimal fraction, cause facts are facts right? That group is representative of probably less than 2% of the entirety of the sales basis of that magazine. Fact is, you are a vocal minority. You don't even have the majority of PCGAMES purchases on your side. Though, now that I think about it. Bet a lot of those copies were sold by people simply to resell them, which is even more ironic.

PS. Fix your links.

The last sentence you made there did also occur to me, seems a dubious way to reach out to your core fans by having their desire to have an 'exclusive' skin (that wasn't that exclusive after all) at the mercy of unscrupulous speculators and scalpers too, same as the 8000* raffle skins. Is this the market model we are supposed to accept?

How would you suggest Triwpire monitor such things? They can't exactly control who buys a skin. I considered this 8000 skin raffle a gesture of good faith as I bet there were forums out there of people who had no way of getting such skin. They figured they could make it so everyone at least had a slight chance but it was taken as a bad thing by the very vocal yet minuscule minorty as some betrayal. It goes to show though, that people want nothing unless they can lord over someone else without it. Odds are many people here wouldn't have even bothered getting the code, had it not be said to be "exclusive"

Dismayed by Tripwire, Disturbed by the Lack of Community Facilitated

What is the worst type of abuse possible in the videogame industry, an industry based in the digital realm with digital things? Here offline, we hold atheletes accountable for doping & steroid slash hormone use, business executives accountable for collaboration to bump prices, police accountable for coercion, street vendors accountable for cloned bootleg goods, and constantly I read & see people demanding resignation of politicians who don't technically even need resign if they don't so wish just for the smallest slight to their emotional spheres.

But here, now, online, when people wish to hold accountable one of their favorite videogame studios, imagination firms, for something which they believe that company did in ignorance of what community is--what the word fanbase is based upon--, it's both disturbing & dismaying to me that a minority of people would attempt to "vocally" minimize those seeking to be made whole by such action to perhaps "defend" the reputation of said videogame studio, TWI "Tripwire", and that Tripwire would attempt to silently deflate the situation by sweeping it under the bed, under the rug what have you. Hiding a beehive under the bed doesn't make it go away, especially when it's the bed you make for yourself.

I have no vested interest in this, no skin, no DLC, other than that I was perusing the Killing Floor 2 forums one day and saw something I felt is not right. Especially when it pertains to a studio I once trusted and thought, being a small studio, was above such "standard" practices. To anyone who would say this is normal in the videogame industry because others do it: other parents beat their children, other industries have illegal standard practices such as toxic waste dumping, while in other industries copyright infringement & trademark dispute are also standard. And really: do we not want to hold a studio we thought before was perfect alike to Valve, Blizzard, Monolith, iD, Bethesda, Bungie, Bioware, Sierra, et al, above others?

Just give it to everyone.... I think it is stupid when companies release this "rare", "limited" or "exclusive" content under bull**** terms. Make it obtainable to all players. A perfect example of how stupid it is when companies do this is GTA5. Pay a **** ton extra and get "some" extra content and a ****ing money bag and some other more idiotic garbage. To me this is a big **** YOU with the middle finger right in the face of there fans just because they were not willing to pay triple the price of something that's not worth that value by any means.

I mean sure do something for your die hard fans but not in this form. I am a big fan of TWI and have both KF and KF2. I also have RO and RO2. In fact the only game that TWI published I don't have is The Ball because it never looked fun. I picked up KF when it first came out long ago and have clocks more hour on that game then any other game I own. Do I feel like it should get something other don't just because I support TWI.

Lets face it..... You got what you paid for did you not. You paid for a magazine so you could have a KF2 skin. Well guess what.... you got it.
Don't feel so entitled to things just to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside because you special. Its people like this that support Companies that do this and think its ok. If no one paid into these kinds of things then companies wouldn't do them and everyone would get the opportunity to get all content for these games.

So ****ing true mate.

I love Killing Floor and I have spent over 800 hours in the first game and over 200 hours in the second one and I have had servers and communities and things. But unfortunately i live in Bulgaria and there is no way to obtain any "exclusive" things for any game out there for some reasons and one being that the normal salary in my country is 200 euro per month and paying over 30 euro for 1 copy of 1 magazine that I will never read because PC gamer are **** just for a jacket for a character that I will probably never play with is just stupid.

Thank god I don't have OCD or ADHD and I don't give a **** about in game content being cosmetic only or no. But there are people out there that can't sleep because there is a dimmed character in their ingame menu.

Yes, I'm just afraid they will change the magazine skins like some people here suggested. If that happens, I will be heartbroken after the happiness that I finally traded for a key and got my jacket. No PCgamer here either and guess what - I don't have any foreign friends to send them to pick up a magazine for me. So I was really happy to learn we get another, more open chance and I finally have the skin. If they change it or anything happens to it like you said I won't sleep.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. If a company makes a promise, they should keep a promise.

We held Tripwire to a higher standard. What we want is a dialogue with TWI about the issue and a resolution. Fair is fair.

I would suggest they don't do it like this at all, they only figured out a way another way to keep it from everyone and at the same time give a few 'lucky' speculators and scalpers an oppertunity to fleece the real fans, as well as make a mockery of the ad's blurb about exclusivity. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I am partial agreement with paragraph one and two of your post, although I do not pretend to know what TWI were truly thinking, I do not agree or concur with the last paragraph though, because, we most certainly did not get everything that was advertised, namely, the now 'non-exclusive' skin, not to feel special or fuzzy, but to support a game in pre-e/a, that was my personal motivation and I'm sure it was the motivation of most of, if not all of us who bought the mag. (scalpers and speculators not incuded in that list) And ofc, the regular subscribers to the mag (some of whom would most likely become scaplers and speculators because they might have no interest in owning KF2) It seems like a dubious way to 'reward' your hardcore fanbase.

Fans who bought the magazine are the core fans of TWI. Those fans remembered THE BALL promotion with Harchier Spebbington and how TWI kept its promise that you could only get it from buying THE BALL pre-order.

Let me ask a some simple questions:
- If I wanted to be a "special snowflake" why did I spend so much of my time and my effort to get extra copies for other people? I helped about 100 people get skins. People from all over the world. I even started a Steam group to support people looking to get the skin and to help them find skins.

- if you feel you have a right to judge me, please list how much time and effort did you put into helping other people? If the answer is none, but you are willing to put time and effort into blocking our request... think about it.

WE ARE REQUESTING A RESPONSE FROM TWI . We are your core fan base. We are paying customers who have supported all of your promotions and crossovers. We are unhappy because we feel the wording in your promotion misled us. We request a response and to open a dialogue to resolve the issue.

Yes, paying customers feel entitled to lodge a complaint with a business. Horrible entitlement. Luckily you have never had that sense of entitlement and never lodged a complaint to a business because you felt unhappy with a product or service.

Lol, no one here cares about supporting TWI. If they did, they would be happy they got the skin regardless cause they wanted to support the company, but that is not what this is about no matter how many times they deny it. This is about petty exclusivity and the fact that it is is probably why TWI is ignoring this trash. Also, Bigguns, you are NOT their core fanbase. There are people without that skin that followed that game longer than a lot of people with it, of this I am sure. All you are in a guy who bought a magazine, nothing more.

There are multiple posts by many different people here that suggest otherwise to me.

"a unique character skin that you can only get by buying the print magazine."

i see that as them saying you won't get it if you got the digital copy of that issue.

I've only seen the skin twice it's not really anything amazing it's exactly the same as foster but he has DOSH on his back, now i don't spend much of my gametime looking at another characters back I barely even noticed it was a different skin. so much uproar for something so small.

Its agreeable that TWI and PCGamer made a poor choice in words in advertising but this is no reason to grab your torch and pitchforks. Rallying the mob to rise against TWI is not going to help anyone. They have enough on their plate between working on KF2 and dealing with the toxicity of these forums as is I'm sure. I'm not defending TWI for there misconstrued message and I don't condone company's that say one thing then do another but this tread really does reek of self-entitlement. Your are entitled to what you have paid for and already received.

I have seen this Dosh Jacket in game is its really not a mantle piece by any means. It good not great so there is not much to be livid about. You paid for a mediocre skin and got it.

Again I say, If company's did not offer these "exclusive" items and just made them available in several different ways (which TWI has done) then people would not have to go to such great lengths to acquire them whether it be for themselves or others. Just because I didn't try to help a bunch of people or myself in acquiring something (that I personally don't support when company's do) doesn't make me any less of a fan. As far as supporting TWI's work in KF2. I have purchased their game in EA. This is me supporting a Company that I like.

Yep I am a subscriber to PC Gamer and get digital copy's emailed to me and I did not receive any skin
