I have posted several times in the thread you mention, though my Steam username is not the same as the one from this account. I have also read all of the suggestions in the group. I still fail to perceive a reasonable course of action outside of the two I have reproduced. Keep in mind I am not pulling these out of thin air, I'm guiding myself by TWI's response. People keep proposing "solutions" which tangentially or even directly go against things Yoshiro explicitly stated TWI can't or won't do. **** happens and I fully believe people got (inadvertently) fooled and that something should be done, but it needs to be reasonable and within the limitations of the situation.

---

And that is the reason I guided you( or you have already been there by your statment ). You discuss that with them, there is nothing in my power to discuss this issue with you as I do not own nor do I want the skin, just trying to help you guys. If you think you guys should keep it in "TWI's limitations" then by all means state your opinion. From what I'v heard since many people have the ability to pick a vote off will likely happen, which has more votes I guess is the winner, aka pleased to the buyers of the mag/rafflers. Voice your opinion there and prolly someone will respond in the group.

"Pretty good I was lucky enough to be able to get that magazine last year. Oh there's a giveaway ow? Oh well at least I made sure I got mine. I'll quickly message my buddy to enter so he can get a chance. Though 8000 is a pretty tough competition."

End of story.

If TWI handled this "special promotion" with PCGamer this thread never would have exsisted so yeah...

Also it goes:
Are you ready kids? "Aye Aye Captain"
I can't hear you! "AYE AYE CAPTAIN"
Oohh...
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
"Spongebob Squarepants"

Lighten up a bit, you got what you answer and a solution. I think it's time for you to chill out unless having both "Dosh" and "Jacket" triggers you.

I think me singing Spongebob lightens me up unlike you! xD
The answer has been presented, the options also, but the options haven't been decided yet!

The only sane solution is "drawing the line" here, so to speak. Either make the cosmetic items (PCG Dosh jacket and mask) obtained THUS FAR truly exclusive (if it's ever reissued, make it NOT the same item - slight alterations perhaps?), or as previously suggested, add a simple extra item to all current and future (from the current 108k batch) key activations. That way, they could reissue the current PCG Dosh set whenever they feel like it, but people who went through the trouble of buying the magazine just for these purportedly exclusive items actually get something truly exclusive for their trouble.

---

I never thought I'd be posting in any thread relating to this topic as it's been blown way out of proportion and a lot of people (Especially on the Steam forums) are being a tad too dramatic about the whole thing IMO, but I fully agree with Echo Black.

Just leave the jacket and gas mask be and never release them again, so eventually they will gain more novelty and rarity, if you care about that. Only giving something to people who redeemed the code before the giveaway isn't that good of an idea, because of this example (And yes, it's true):

I was unaware of the PCGamer magazine, and to be honest I wasn't really up to date with KF2 when the magazine was sold anyway.

I then proceeded to enjoy the game, but I took a short break. When I returned to the game, I missed the giveaway too, but became aware of both promotions through this whole debate.

I then found out that a friend of mine had an extra copy of the magazine that he kept, purposely knowing the code would be valuable and exclusive (At the time of purchase at least) who then traded the code from his magazine to me, and I redeemed it as soon as the trade was done (A few weeks after the giveaway).

So basically, using time frames alone isn't that accurate, because of this example (Albeit a strange one) :p

Hello Tripwire, is it possible to have the Dosh Skin removed from my steam account? I bought the magazine and I was so happy to get the Dosh skin as it was for my favorite character but now I can't keep in in good conscious.

The actions of Bigguns and his gang has placed a stigma on people who own the skin because of a minor miscommunication and now are trying to take advantage of the situation to further their goals.

If there is a way to remove the skin from my account I would appreciate it as I no longer want the shame that comes with it.

Thank you.

The only way to verify magazine purchase is to show the install date of the DLC before the contest. While a very few magazine codes might have been entered after that point, those people were then not affected by the issue because you would have then known about the contest.

The people most affected bought the magazine knowing how Harchier Spebbington was handled and seeing the words "only get this unique skin by buying the print edition" and bought it specifically because there was never to be another method. Those people spent $10 - $30, plus considerable time and effort. According to the numbers posted 100K magazine were sold, if only 10% bought it because of that one time only offer, that is 10K people or it could easily be 25% = 25K, or even 50K people.

We are working to discuss options with TWI, and TW Yoshiro has offered two concepts with one being unlikely. The most likely involves some change to current or future skin or combination.

Anyone who bought the magazine should participate in the discussion in the steam group

I haven't been paying much attention to this silly ****storm, but has anyone brought up that perhaps a certain number of codes were given to PCGamer, they were shipped with the magazines, and months later PCGamer had some left over and decided to give them away? Because paying for the magazine was the product, with the jacket code being a bonus. These players then had the skin exclusively for months before another small group of player got a tiny chance at getting their own jacket.

People were also butt-blasted when KF2 went on sale, so it's my firm belief that you people just like stirring up trouble rather than actually discussing more important things.

While you may not like this topic, it has not prevented other topics from being discussed. We have got a response from Yoshiro and are working with tripwire to resolve this issue.

Your next step is to admit that this campaign is aimed at the wrong company and you really should have been petitioning PC Gamer this entire time.

You seem to have unrealistic faith in people, mate. New Red Orchestra will have come out by the time they've understood that :D

]Here is a summary to date

- a promtion in PC Gamer offering TWI skin said you can "ONly get this unique skin by BUYING the PRINT edition ... edition #254"

- according to a post by TWI, over 100K copies of the magazine were sold. If even 10% of the people bought it because that promotion said it was the only way to get it , that is 10K people, but it could be 25K or even 50K people affected by this issue

- people upset by what they felt was misleading wording requested a response from TWI and to work to resolve the issue

- TWI responded and explained the situation from their point of view. While they said they did not intend it, they can see how people feel misled by the wording and how those people felt they had to buy the print edition

- TWI offered some early suggestions for resolution

At this point we would like to work to finalize this process. We are notifying people who are affected so they can particpate. We are making suggestions for resolution to find a reasonable way to bring closure.

.If you are directly affected ( meaning you bought the magazine), please offer your opinion, and continue to work with TWI.

It really is your heart-cause to make TWI implement something into the game that is impossible to get in the future.

Equal exchange, if they were promised an exclusive they will ( hopefully ) get an exclusive. And please do not go there...... Just don't...... Do not bring up " another skin I want but then can't get", simply do not go there...

TWI what are the next steps? People have posted some additional ideas and cast their vote for resolution to the issue. How to we move to the next step?
