Does map temperature affect tank MG overheating? If they can.

Can tank MG's overheat like regular ones, and if so, does the map temp have any affect on it?
Also, I assume temp not only affects how long it takes to heat up, but also how long it takes to cool? (for the DP28 where you can't change barrel)
