They are usually very populated starting on Thursday evenings, then heavy Friday through Sunday....

Yeah I suppose Monday at 1 AM isn't the best of times.
I resorted to play RO2. It was just a frenzy of bayonet charges since the capzone was inside the building. They really need better maps especially if they're not going to fix the issues with weapon imbalance.

I use bolts exclusively, just as I did in RO1. I don't have any more problems with "weapon imbalance" in RO2 as I did in RO1. Indoors or out. You're doing it wrong....

I fare much better in RO1 than RO2 when using rifle.
The only elaborating I can do is to say I'm level 50 with both bolts and pretty much Level 0 with everything else. I generally score right up there with almost everyone that doesn't get a lot of points from arty. I usually have more kills than the avg smg or semi-auto player. But I did that in RO1, as well. When I get in a tough situation, I just don't get upset and scream "too many smgs!" when I die as I logically should. I can run a HELL of lot faster in RO2 and that negates a lot any imbalance in the open when compared to RO1, imo.
