Idk if this has been mentioned yet ITT, anyone else remember when trader files were found in KF for the Medic Grenade, Dragon's Breath Trenchgun, and Mosin Nagant all at the same time? One of those still hasn't been added, plus those other perk icons and 3rd male voice set.

I never forgot, i acutally re-got those files and paste them in my KF folders :p
Dragon Combat is was just a shotgun with fire bullets, it only needed trader/menu icons. But that was dropped and was remade into a new weapon being the Trenchgun.

The old medicnade files is the same models/sounds used, though it had no texture and it had a different trader/menu icons, but those icons showed a different medicnade then the model it came with.

Mosin is really the only gun not in, they aready have the model/animation/icons/sound, its basically done, their is no texture file for it though...

But if you wanna bring back unused weapons, their is still the Un-Silenced Mac10 (another Normal Mac10), Machine Pistol, Broken Pipe, Concussion Grenade, Fist, and the Zed Control Device.
Edit:
Run this by me again? Valve actually confirmed HL3 after a bazillion years of being in denial of the already known? AND gave a release day?
I dont know if they confirmed it, but there is a online tracker showing that Vavle is "working" on Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, and Source 2

Those 3 are not something that will bring the players back.

they just have to create something new, 75% off, and new players will arrive :)

Yeah, for like 5 months until 65% of those sale buyers just leave and never come back, and a 25% of those well grind their perks, 80% of good servers would be locked due to scrub week.

Have somebody known for doing reviews of games, like totalbiscuit, review the game at the same time they put it on sale

it worked for super monday night combat

This seems especially relevant
When a community is too 133+ for new players is when the community starts to die.
If your sentiment is common among the skilled (or even competent) players, it's no wonder we see **** like this or this

Yeah i was wondering about that, someone "Cool" and the kids will totally check it out.

SMNC? People still play that? I know when they annouced TF2 hats with this game, the player amount went up for god knows how much this game gets...but now its like not touched.

Kinda funny no? The best way to advertise a game on steam is by offering TF2 items or other ingame things related to TF2 (TWI is guilty of this).
Its like a law for steam. I know Skullgirls will be offering TF2 hats when that game comes out, but then assholes will sell those hats for like 2 keys.
I wonder if KF2 will offer hats for preorder :p Or maybe offer a hat for this year summerside show.

Oh god, TFS made a Killing Floor video?! I stopped watching them.
*hears vegeta make a joke about killing and floors*
Yeah im never watching those voice actors again, and that other video was just awful to watch.

When i "Stated" those numbers it mostly true. I tell people "Dont ragequit, it doesnt make a better player and your gonna stay in the cycle of sucking". I myself am not that skilled, no one was there giving me the points to the game when i started off and im sure most of us had the same thing, and not just with KF but with any game. You gotta either learn yourself, or bother to look up how2 videos on YT or something.

Most of the time, when this game does go on sale, yeah sure, a lot of users buy them but there are 3 paths the game will get.
1) Played for a limited time and forgotten.
2) Actually find a loving home
3) Will wander off in the tradering world until either path 1 or 2 is choosen.

The steam user base pays attention more to hit games, games that are on multiplatform, HD graphics, known brands, etc. Indie games that go on sale dont get much of the spotlight, since there will be several other indie games on sale. KF will just be a name you might pass scrolling down looking for that "HOLY CRAP, this hit game is on sale!" thing.

Also on a side note, im a KF loyalist due to the Summer event, they hit me with nostalgia, a human being's best/worse companion.

Im sorry that this has NOTHING to do with Rising Storm weapons being in KF's Summer event.

Last time I checked (about a month ago), the playercount was stuck at 603 players, probably much less since there was also a bug that doubled the playercount. Just two or three five-man pubstompers doing nothing but rolling over new kids and hoping that they face the other pubstompers at this point. Plus, the game is practically dead to Uber, who made it. Not an update in months, constant bugs popping up, the whole spin.

Skullgirls is already out, its only offering TF2 hats for a kickstarter since the team basically got kicked out and have to start on their own, and are offering DLC as well.

While I think the whole TF2 hat thing is silly, I think it'd be a pretty good idea for the next update if they are planning something big.

Make obtaining them a challenge so that people will stick around a bit, and considering the low price of the game we should see a much higher player base for a while. Those that like the game will stick around.

More players means the game will seem like a more attractive purchase (since the more players playing it, the better). It also means some oldbies may come back to play with the revitalised player base, which will bump the numbers up even more.

It's pretty bizarre and a bit sad to see people desperately trying to prove that KF is fine and just needs a new event to bring hordes of new players in.

Everything Hunter said is right (I can't believe I just typed that). I love, love, love KF but any aspect of challenge or survival has been utterly destroyed in an attempt to appeal to the arcadey shooter crowd. I don't blame Tripwire for going in that direction but it feels like a parody of itself in the worst way possible now.

They will not put anything. As I can see from TWI's Twitter and Facebook accounts they don't care about KF at all ... I will be surprised if there is a new event at all. You can guess by the number of achievements. This is the first thing that changes when there is going to be an event. When you see more than 209 achievements then there will be an event in maybe a month or so ... nothing for now so I guess they have decided to let it go ...

It is fine for the majority of people. A game has to lose it's appeal at some point, that's the nature of the beast. I agree there are a lot of balancing/bugfixes that still need to be addressed. Totally. But for me and the people I play with on a regular basis, they're not gamebreakers. This is due to us not being hardcore, serious KF players. We've spent a lot of hours playing but we do so for pure fun.

I'm fairly sure we'll see something soon (just my personal opinion). Whether it's a themed event or not, I dunno but I always look forward to it.

And HuNter generally does make valid observations. It's just a shame his posts are aggressive at times. It is possible to make a point without attacking or being overly aggressive.

I have a few friends who feel that way and I honestly wish I did too. I'm glad people still enjoy it but the KF I loved is absolutely dead now. I fire it up every few months and try to like it again but it's more of a fond memory at this point. Can't fault Tripwire for wanting to make money though.

This very hard.

I legitimately miss KF.

My team doesn't play anymore, none of my actual friends do, the list of things I like about KF has shrunken, and I absolutely god damn hate the new "community" in pub servers. Absolutely terrible state.

I remember being able to play a pub game and you'd bump into familiar usernames often and just about everyone was friendly, helpful, and willing to work together to get the gold.

Not so much anymore. The quality of community has deteriorated to be like that of Counter-Strike.

And the exclusionary nature of the community, combined with the difficulty of the game (to newbs) makes the attrition rate much higher than it could be (or really should be) sans the former or the latter. Making the argument that "I had to deal with ****, so the newbies should be left drowning in ****" is poor form because it implies that your highest ideal is maintaining the status quo. Considering that the game's at the end of it's life cycle, spurning newbs because "well that's the way it was for me" is all the more foolhardy. I see no reason why we shouldn't strive to make the transition from cowadooty and gears of halo easier for the next group. I mean really, why not?

This quote accurately captures my views regarding how Killing Floor has sank into the Marianas Trench of declining games.
