Nope!

However if you hit the reload button when your ammo is fully in the gun, it'll do a "half-animation" as I call it to show you that the gun is secure and fully loaded. I thought that was nifty.

No, but the animation to check your magazine capacity (when full) is somewhat suitable for an unjamming animation... so maybe a modification will have jamming.

I'm also wondering this as well- occasionally, my rifle will not shoot. It still has ammo in it, but it just won't shoot. Usually it happens with my semi-auto, but occasionally it happens with my bolt.

Never had it as you describe it, but sometimes if I interupt my reload just a tiny bit too early it gets "cancelled" and then when I need to fire at the enemy, I have no bullets :( cost me my life more than once. Now I always check I'm fully reloaded.

Too bad. I really liked the jams in RO. Made for intense moments.

EDIT: So, um, apparently there were no jams in RO. Yeah ... I don't know what I'm thinking of. Maybe a mod? I could have sworn there was a "clear jam" bind or something. Meh!

If you hold down the reload button at any time, your character will check to see how much ammo is left in the mag.

Sometimes mine "Jams" after I've checked and it says "Mag is fully loaded", and the only way to get it to do... anything... is to switch to my pistol, switch back, THEN reload.

Glitch?

Oh that's cool, I'll have to do that more often. Thanks for the tip. :{D

Jamming doesn't make a lot of sense for the moment. It is quite rare to jam a weapon. Maybe one day but please no stupid things like in Farcry 2 where you jammed your AK47 every 3 minutes ( righhttttttt.... ). WWII weapons are quite "simple" weapons they are not very likely to jam

A bolt-action rifle of the period would be highly unlikely to jam, but a semi- or fully-automatic weapon could easily have a misfeed or a stovepipe, and that's putting aside squib loads and simple misfires.

I'm not sure I'd want to see it in the game, but it wouldn't be unrealistic. I could live if one round in three hundred simply failed to go off and your character automatically (or after another click) cycled the action, I guess. I could see it being extremely obnoxious to a lot of players, though probably an idea best saved for a mod.

Perhaps you are thinking about America's Army? Died too many times to those jams there :D

I've had this happen to me at least 3 times, quite frustrating.

There's some sort of glitch indeed. Just last night, I was playing as a rifleman. My clip went empty, so I tried to replace it... but it just didn't work normally. Instead of normal, swift clip change, I saw some kind of strange incomplete animation maybe 10-15 times in a row, before the clip was finally changed.

It kinda felt like a jam. Maybe those wishing for more and more realism should hope this glitch to remain unfixed? :p

The problem is gun jamming is fairly rare in reality. And when they do happen, its sometimes difficult to remove the jam. (like casing stuck in the chamber real tight)

But they could add simple misfires. Gun would go "click" but nothing happens. Pressing mouse again rebolts and we can fire again.
It's not all that rare to happen, with a dirty gun especially, maybe every few hundred shots?
Very easy to add too.

Some weapons featured in the game were quite prone to jamming, especially when they've gotten dirty from proning all the time.
