So I spent $300 to upgrade from a GEForce 210 to a GEForce GTX 550 Ti (and a new PSU to support it) and my FPS on the same settings went down by 5-10. Updated the drivers, everything.

I know my processor is particularly weak, I get that, what I don't understand is that the graphics card set up doesn't seem to matter at all.

I hope some optimizations come soon to relieve the pressure on our CPU's.

In the meantime, anyone have any suggestions to wrangle out more fps beyond setting the game to absolute minimum settings in the .ini file?

It doesn't matter now because I presume there is a flaw in the code (read: unoptimised). My CPU and GPU usage aren't anywhere near their max and I'm still getting ****-FPS, between 15 and 50 (much more often on the downside). And this is regardless of my videosettings. Doesn't matter if I play on low or on high, no difference.

TW first needs to optimise this code and let the CPU and GPU really work hard, then and only then will you begin to notice differences in FPS and performance.

I belive not. I have pretty average Radeon HD4850, but still pretty good Core 2 Quad 9550 @ 2,83 and it runs on ultra very close to that you can call "smooth"

Stop spreading FUD. Nothing wrong with the code. Yes the video card matters, but if you have a slow CPU upgrading the video card will not matter.

Explain why my i7 only uses 40% of cpu while playing and theGPU only 50% then and FPS blows?

If he is lieing why does my HD5770 sit at ~30% activity ingame all the time regardless of the FPS im getting ingame?

Why does my CPU sit at ~70%?

Ignore maleficarus, he doesn't now what he's talking about ;).
The only thing he knows is that it's running great for him and hence (according to him) IT's ALL OUR CRAPPY HARDWARE's FAULT!..

I'm using an AMD quad and it's using around 70% of each core and I'm unsure of my GPU usage, as I don't use Precision anymore. But I've never seen lower than 35fps, and I'm using a GTX 275 playing on all ultra.

What CPU do you have, and what resolution do you run?

GTX 560TI
I7 2600K 3.4Ghz
8Gb 1800Mhz DDR3 ram

Running it on an OCZ Vertex3 SSD

I still only get around 35FPS on ultra, and neither my GFX card of CPU are working very hard.

ATI4850HD (very old original release 512MB and not overclocked)
Q6600 @ 3.0ghz
4GB RAM

40 + or - 10-15 depending what I'm doing ingame (sprinting, camping, indoors/outdoors etc)

Turning off steam overlay and OC'ing my Q6600 seemed to help a lot. Also make sure one frame lag and framerate smoothing are off.

These are my settings, except I've put post processing to advanced and occlusion quality to high.

perhaps your CPU is bottlenecking your card.

Would you mind posting your CPU?

This does not entirely make sense, even if that were the case. His speed will do nothing but increase because the card is better than his last one.. the problem is that how MUCH better is where things get dicey. People make it sound like bottlenecking will do NOTHING for you and that is simply not the case. It will not live up to it's full potential, but it won't be worse than what you had simply because the technology you're using now is better.

That being said, it's most likely the game optimization. This is evident in all the highend computers with good components getting terrible frames.

Dude, you say the same idiotic crap in EVERY thread. Quit with that garbage, you're the only one spreading "FUD".

Upgrading a graphics could should improve performance even if it is ever so slight and if this were any other game it would improve performance. Face it, TWI's coding has been lower than professional, from the server browser to the game, sub par.

I get about 35 fps with 2 gtx 460s superclocked
Its not a bottleneck of the cpu
Its the game
Its the only game I own that does this

AMD Phenom II 955 quad, ATI 5850... and I get between 25-35 FPS on high; 25-30 with artillery. I can't even touch ultra or I'll get 20 FPS.

...And then during random shoot-outs my FPS drops to 5 for just a split second... getting me killed. This game's lack optimization makes me rage so hard. I really should be able to ultra it on top of this.
