The one item regarding the sound that I really found to be an issue was by default; there is music playing in every level while you battle it out. While the music selection is nice, in a game where sound is so important I found it distracting.

Can music be disabled? I really don't like music in my war games...

Yes. There will at the very least be a music volume slider you can drag to zero. Unless they've removed that functionality for some reason.

Oh sure, - my post just because I said your question was dumb. But sometimes things are just too obvious to even need a question at all.
This was actually the only thing I based my "Yes." on. I couldn't imagine Tripwire, the dedicated PC development studio, leaving such a basic thing out (when all their previous games and most UE3 games all have it). :p

I always turn my music off too, makes it less immersive for me.

Also - It never hurts just to check this stuff. Plenty of times I've been surprised at missing features that I personally would have thought to be basic and had previously taken for granted. I even have a feeling that CoD might not have music controls... (def not sure about that though).

Would be awesome if the soviet was using propaganda over loud speakers and germans trying to make the russians surrender ? :D i mean around some maps and then shooting the speakers would kill the sound

Maybe you should've responded with a simple, "Yes". Just sayin'.

But in relevence to the thread, I am sure the game will have standard audio, and visual control set ups etc, so you can just slide the volume of the music down to zero, happy gaming :D

I only asked because the review I quoted made it confusing on the option to be able to disable it.

it's not a dumb question because I remeber the review that moaned about having to listen to music throughout the battle. Most likely just a dumb reviewer who didnt bother to tick the "no music" box in his settings but as most of us mere plebs who dont have access to the game yet, it's reasonable to ask.

As long as it is a question not a thousand times explained already, even the dumbest questions are welcome!

Not implying this is a dumb question OP;)

I usually play my FPS games with my own music. I really hope disabling the music applies to both the soundtrack and the end of game stuff. I hate it when I disable the music in a game and it still lets environment music though.
