I wonder whether it will be possible to have different types of artillery. Like artillery that slowly creeps forward. So can actually move directly behind the artillery.

Creeping Barrage??? There's a lot of artillery types in CoH like the one you suggested.

Theres also a type that when before it hits the ground it explodes and tiny shells come out.

I like the idea, but how would the commander select what type he wants?

Ahhh, so you mean for a large barrage, the squad leader would click a beginning and end point for it (limited within reason) and then it would proceed to land and move in that direction till finished. Interesting...

Haha, you mean airburst shells?

I agree it would be interesting, and a nice feature to implement.

Shouldn't it be sectors? E.g. "Shell sectors E4-6." Resulting in 4-6 being shelled in sequence, like a 'creeping' barrage.

CoH T.T. ???

It's called Overwatch. The others are Creeping Barrage (as mentioned) and Counter Battery, which is where your 25 pdrs will return fire on enemy artillery anywhere on the map. Pretty useful. :)

Creeping Barrage would be pretty awesome to be honest, but I always associate it with Tommies in the Great War, so I wouldn't be that bothered about having it in RO2.

It definitely needs to be in Iron Europe, though. :D

About five times more than RO2, but it just so happens that we have to wait for that before IE can be released. :D

But seriously, both will rock but WWI > WWII - always.

I felt like that once.

Plus, you know... the artillery officers didn't go, "Let's activate a creeping barrage!". It's not like a setting on the side of their guns. They just fired shells while altering aim to fire in a line or grouping, it's still used today.

In one of the videos I think different types of artillery were mentioned (eg: more damage to a smaller area etc) but I can't remember which video it was...

White phosphorus smoke rounds do both in one. Burning particulates and smoke cover all in one easy to use package.

I'd like to see smoke shells being thrown down. It'd be very helpful for advancing troops. :IS2: Especially when they're up against tanks and MG nests.

They already mentioned 3 kinds of artillery.

Mortar strikes for a small area

Artillery for medium area

Rockets for large area

But what do the Germans get as an alternative to rockets?

Germans had lots of rocket artillery, Sturmtiger, Nebelwerfer 10cm, 15cm, 21cm, 28/32cm and the Panzerwerfers
