Deployable Light

I don't take credit for this idea, my brother suggested it.
His idea was to have lights that you could deploy around dark areas. These lights would be purchased from the trader and they would be deployed in the same manner as Pipe Bombs. they have no offensive capabilities whatsoever, they are simply a way of making it so that you can see darker patches. What do you guys think? They could be flares or globes, it doesn't worry me.

Another possibility for this would be that these lights could show the Stalkers out, but I'm really not to sure about that. That could be perk specific, maybe if a Commando planted them or something or they could extend the Commandos invisibility detection?

maybe it can be changed for special perks.
sharpshooter and demo gets only light
comando gets a stalker detector
medic deploy a healing kit
and support deploys a ammo box

in this way support gets another job replenishing the ammo (cost maybe high or high consume of the box in base of the tier type), medics gets another healing way

Original, useful, and could be balanced, not to mention easily codable. Nice Suggestion:D.

As for my personal opinion, I vote that as long as they die out (preferably giving less light as time went on, to up the spook factor:p), and are moderatley expensive (don't want light spamming to negate the dieing out), it should work nicely. For the price, I'd suggest making it expensive when non-perked, as to ensure it is used but not spammed. For spamming would negate the tacticul disadvantage of dark places entirely, and make it much less scary. But if you really have to think when and where to place, then I approve.

Also, it would make it sort of like the "campfire" atmosphere, where you and your team are around sources of light, but enemies are starting to creep out of the dark from multiple angles.

No, it's been discussed many, many times. Spammy and ruins map lighting. Probably dynamic lighting which doesn't work with certain KF settings. The stalker reveal is new, but questionably useful since they are pathetically weak.

Alright guys, thanks for the constructive feedback so far. :D Glad you mostly like it!
At Akame, I didn't even think of the light settings, we would have to make sure that it worked the same way as a flashlight and give off an orange and flickering glow so that it looked more like a fire for the flare idea, which I am all upf or.
They certainly ned to have a map limit, and a time limit for each one so that the whole map is not covered up. I reckon this idea is most useful for the trader runs so that you can see your way easier and not get caught by hidden enemies until you have reached your safe spot.
The stalkers may be weak, but those little women have a knack for shredding you from behind.

I noticed all the juniour members are posting in this thread, no wonder everybody says its a good idea.
So now you think that you have to have the "Senior Member" in your names to write something relevant to the subject above? How prejudicive.

OT:
I can't see how this would fit in to the game. All the features you generally have in the game, has a general purpose. Not something, which is specific to certain maps, like depending on if how bright or dark it is.

But I kind of like the idea.

Hmmmm, i'll have to look into some mods and stuff, but i find unless you know exactly what you're lookinh for, google will generally just chuck back Killing Floor: Mod for UT2004. I find it quite difficult to find stuff, so if anyone could direct me to a good site, that would be swell. Also, how to install and does this alter the game in any negative way for playing multiplayer on the Internet? Eg. Won't let me in because of different files?

I don't see this feature adding much to the game, in the early wave's your 9mm has a flashlight and a little later the pumpshotty can be used to the same effect. As support with a shotty I will light up a coridor so team mates can see. Ok, as you get to later waves with better weapons you lose the light but thats traided out for incereased firepower.
