Hi. I have a pretty outdated pc and I would like to download a demo of the new game before changing some parts, or maybe the entire pc, because everybody knows that Red Orchestra 2 will have very good graphics. Now, the question is:
Tripwire, will you make a demo?

End.

RO2 will essentially be a Multiplayer game. So I would say no. But you might be able to DL the game during a free weekend or smthing.

There is usually tons of performance threads when a game is released where you can see the big picture.

It would be nice with a demo, too few games have a demo version these days.

I doubt you'll see a demo but you will/should see an extended beta which will give you a very good idea of how the game runs on your hardware.

I would like a pre realese benchmark demo, that would be awesome and people would see how awesome the game looks :p

Unfortunately, benchmark or no, Demo's take a fair bit of time to make, and i think TWI would rather spend that time getting the game out, and subsequently providing post-release support and free content for it.
They are a pretty small team, so it'd be pretty hard for them to do both in a timely manner.

That said though, TWI has allways made liberal use of the "free-weekend" system Steam has, and i have no doubt they will be doing the same this time.

Try to get into the beta, read post release user reviews or wait for a free weekend. I don't see them doing a demo and a free weekend may only happen several months after release.

Maybe you will be able to hitch a ride on the final beta before release. Not sure how they will be giving out keys so would be wise to keep an eye out.

I'd hope not, lots of people thease days won't buy a game unless they can try it first (people have been let down a lot thease last few years), and it'd be best if they get to try it whilst they are still interested in the release..

Just putting that out there.

Just make it an SP firefight version of one map.
That way you can check the guns and games mechanics which should be enough.

i think i wouldnt be to hard to just make a fly over on a map with bots or so... maybe a day or two off work but i dont think it would be that hard

Yes, and the beta will make the demo useless since the fact that the beta is a sort of...."demo" :D ;)

No because a demo is something everybody can load and play/test, but the beta will be closed so you need a key... there will be like 20.000 key i think(yoshi sad it correct me if i am wrong) so if you wont get a key you cant test the game.

and a beta is a beta so there may be a bad performance, bugs and so on so a real demo would make sense =)

"RO2 will essentially be a Multiplayer game"

is that so? i ask a developer to confirm this so i can stop worrying about building a pc for this. cause if the a.i. and t-hunt style coop isn't second to none i don't want this game bad enough to build a pc for.

I am afraid that you might be slightly disappointed there... although the game will have a very good AI (hopefully) from what we know so far, the core of it will be its multiplayer. Still not sure why you would find that bad, I mean the focus on multiplayer
