I'm just wondering how the Killing Floor community feels about Demo's and using grenade weapons to score headshots. I've found that on Hard (ya ya ya I'm not a HoE player) Headshots on scrakes with an M32 will quickly Dispatch said Scrake. I'm not sure how this would work on Hell of Earth, really, but what are everyone else's opinion?

Upper body shots deal 2x damage to zeds.

If you can kill a scrake with no problem with grenades then more power to you, but as you increase the difficulty you'll find it takes more and more grenades to kill scrakes, and I can't remember if it's even possible on HoE with 7 nades.

Once you get to HoE, it becomes unfeasible, meaning that it takes up a LOT of your resources compared to the sharpshooter shooting 2 crossbow bolts.

I do believe its possible with just 6 headshots, maybe even 5. Not very effective if you ask me but some demos just love to spam.

ya but 6 Headshots with an M32? you have to reload after that, too! and on Hell on Earth, I imagine you don't exactly have that kind of time to reload all those shots? once again, I'm not a Hell on Earth player. I'm working my way up to that

Headshots are always what to aim for. A headshot from the m79 on a forecast will kill it. 5 m32 headshots kill a 6 man hoe fp and 6 kill a scrake. Also online when you hit the head the smoke travels through them to whatever wall is behind them making it easier for your team to see. Pretty sure that parts a bug but it works.

so I'm NOT the only person who noticed that. I hope someday I can play with some of you! I still obviously have much to learn, but I'm taking it at my own pace :p

So headshots are still better than, say, wall shots, but it's less worth the ammo on Hell on Earth?

With the number and frequency of scrakes, and bearing in mind the ease with which other classes kill them, it's not really worth using an entire mag of M32 on them.

Plus, 6 nades worth of smoke will pretty much totally obscure everything within sight, so the rest of your team will be mad.

another thing to mention, is that headshots with launched grenades deal DOUBLE damage, but ONLY to the body HP. a single grenade headshot will usually be enough to dispatch a husk or siren on suicidal and below, and like others have mentioned, 5 headshots takes out a 6 man HoE FP, and 6 takes out a scrake, but you have to be very accurate with the scrake, this should only really be done in emergencies.

Having said that, the number of situations in a fully ranked team where you'll need to take out the scrake on HoE are far and few between. I'm guessing mostly it'll be something like you're clutching the wave, and your team are dead, in which case you'd probably rage it with a pistol or sidearm and then kill it with 4-5 M32 nades, which'd be a bit safer just incase you missed one.

id actually advise raging it with the m32, if you miss, finish him off with a magnum or mk23, which i've done on several occasions. also if you are clutching out a wave, chances are the scrakes will be less than 6 man hp, so less than 6 nades will be needed to take him down.

Raging it with the m32 also gives the possibility of a slo mo scrake, in which case they are pretty much harmless. Then it can easily be finished off with a sidearm or any other weapon that is lying around.
