I bought this game a few days ago and have not been able to get the server to work so my friends can join. FYI i am not a noob at this. I have all ports forwarded and by my port checker they are open but a friend cannot connect at all. The error is "server not responding". I have sent him invites to play on my server but nothing. I have read all threads. I bought through steam, if that means anything........please help would like to play with my buds they live so far away.

Try going to this site: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ and telling your friend to add the IP address there to his favourites. The invite you are sending is probably giving them your internal IP address rather than your public one.
I found a thread to set behindnat to true did that now my friend can see my server in his favorites with all the server info but still cannot connect.
I just want to check something, are you running the server on a seperate box on your network or a listen server on the box you are playing on.
I bought through Steam and I am running the game and server on the same machine which has a static ip everything is forwarded through router and windows firewall inbound and outbound.
Ok, well in my experiance that does not work. The dedicated server needs to run on a seperate box. Or at least this is the case for other games.
Give this ago, Launch KF, from the main menu, select "Host Game", then setup the game how you like, and click "Listen".
This will launch an open game in which your friend should be able to join via your external IP which you get from whatsmyip
See if that works. If it does thats your solution.
If of course you want a server that runs 24/7 then I recomend investing in a second box or rent one from the likes of INX-Gaming or UKGAME.

I have already tried that he can see it but when he tries to connect it says server not responding..
This time i put it in the DMZ to c what would happen and didnt show up in either internet list. Going to leave in DMZ till a friend can try to connect. This did not work either...........any other ideas.
