two pc's

one can see the lan server
the other cannot

tried without firewalls/dhcp

both computers can see steam servers just fine.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking i'm gonna try lan/wifi drivers next

Im assuming the computer that see's it is the one hosting?

They are defiantly on the same network right?

Try going into favorites tab and adding it by using the hosting computer's IP address

3 pc's total, 1 server, 2 others, 1 of the "others" can see, the other can't

I'm having such weird issues. For a while I was able to manually connect using the port #.

For some reason it would show up in my lan tab briefly, and I could connect to it when it showed up.

Then I was able to connect manually (i.e. 192.168.3.16:7710)

Now it shows up, and I get the proper listing (shows maps, etc), but it times out when I try to connect.

I tried copying a bunch of files onto my laptop (maps), and after this I can't connect anymore. I didn't change my killingfloor.ini.

What the hell?

I think I fixed it

I copied a bunch of files over the old ones, but not replacing any, which was weird.

Then I wasn't able to connect to anything (index.rom hang). So I tried the fix, lost all internet servers.

So instead of downloading everything again. I renamed my killingfloor folder, deleted system folder.

"deleted" local content
renamed killing floor folder back

so that way it only restored my system folder.

Good way of "reinstalling" only the system folder.

I was able to connect to internet servers again
and I was able to connect to lan servers, but I had to do it manually (i.e. via ip:port)

You know it is easier to just delete the contents of the system folder and right click "killing floor" in the library, choose properties, go to the local files tab and click on verify integrity of game cache to just download a new system dir. Alternately after doing this and you have all your settings the way you want, just make a zip/rar of the system folder and delete and restore from your archive. The archive method should always work as long as there has not been any game update or map updates since you made the backup.
