I like both modes. But I prefer Realism over Classic because I am too lazy to run all the way back to the battle when I die lol. If there was "spawn on SL" feature in the Classic mode then it would be a no brainer for me. If TWI add some transport then I will play Classic mode 90% of the time.

Seriously, what's the thrill if you're in combat 100% of the time? It's not supposed to be an arena shooter...
I miss when getting to the combat zone were part of the fun, the different approaches and tactics, positioning were a thing...

Funny how some players here go off on some of the other players of differing modes. They complain or comment on their attitudes using almost the same language they are complaining about :p

It's not why you can respawn on Squad leader in realism that the different approaches and tactics become impossible in realism. Respawn on Squad leader don't make different approaches and tactics impossibles. It's add more difficulties. A chaos of war is created by Respawn on Squad leader. Realism is really a tactic challenge.

Its fun in games like ARMA or SWAT. In RO2, 99% of the players are herp derp doing their own stuff, no one's chatting or even talking (or its rare). Where's the trill in spending 5 min pressing forward doing nothing else, then die from random bullet and have to repeat the whole thing again? :rolleyes: Also what tactics are you talking about? 8 out of 10 rounds no one give a damn about giving or taking any orders, let alone some complicated tactic involving more than 2-3 players.

Sorry Moe I don't complain about realism mode. Classic players are FIRST to complain about classic mode, who is their OWN mode. Classic and not realism players, remenber it please.

-First point : Classic player can't say it : "my mode's better than your mode" ...
because You forget Classic players hate the classic mode really more than another players.

Classic players, you hate realism players and actions players more than realism players and actions players hate you.

-Second point : Classic is a "joke" who doesn't works. You forget Classic mode doesn’t work. I prefer a joke who work than a joke who doesn’t work. I prefer the way to be a joke of realism or action than the way to be a joke of classic.
The way of Classic mode to be a joke is one in RO 2 : Maybe realism players and action players hate classic mode...but classic players HATE MORE classic mode than theses players.
Classic players are the FIRST to dislikes classic mode...Classic mode is first mode to be not loved by EVERYBODY ! Real name of classic mode should be “unloved mode” ?
The point of view who show Classic mode is how much a joke who doesn’t work no need to be reinforcing here… See how many threads (and not just post) are reinforcing it again and again. Next Thread about Classic mode problems will reinforce it again and again.

Read threads : how much player play realism and action ! Read people saying : “I am realist player, and I play also action for fun”, or “I am action player, and I play realism to try it”. You can’t recognize players love to play Realism and Action as players. It’s the classic players “virus” ! Why a classic realism and action player are normal players for an Action player ?? Why a classic realism and action player are normal players for a Realism player ?? AND Why a realism and action player are NOT normal players for a Classic player ?? So : Player who play realism or action are not real players ?

It doesn't make it impossible but sure does make it limited, especially considering the average size of the maps. Most of the time spawn on SL is just a portal direct into the battle and it gets old pretty fast and that's why I can't play this game for a prolonged period of time when spawn on SL is on (just like arena mode on Chivalry).

Well, that sure reflects the average joe on RO2. That makes you think about what were they aiming for with all the "accessibility"...

Exactly, and sadly that is the nature of pub games. I never see any more teamwork on a Classic server than I do on Realism or Custom ones, mostly just people lone wolfing it. To get the kind of teamwork and mass cooperation that people keeping talking about, you'd need an organized group of players like in a Clan match or organized skirmish. Especially with higher player counts like 50 or 64, its an uphill battle to shepard everyone into working together even briefly.

Someone who doesn't understand spawn on SL is someone who first doesn't understand what is chaos of war.

And another point : spawn on SL make squad leader for a sniper an important target to kill in high priority. With spawn on SL, now sniper kills really squad leader...because in realism squad leaders are really squad leader. Now : Sniper do (or not) really his job of sniper. It's a tactic point interesting in realism mode.

Otherwise just don't play this mode. Is it so damn hard? Yes I don't like Action, its like CoD, if I want to play CoD I will play CoD not RO2. And thats why I simply DON'T bother playing Action mode. These days I am playing CS:GO and I am seeing way more teamwork than I see in RO2. Especially in the cs_ maps. For some reason in CS:GO you are more tied to the team than you are in RO2. I think thats because you rely on your team to complete the objective that doesn't involve just to get in some zone. You have to protect each other while escorting the hostages, defusing the bomb, etc. And you simply can't kill everybody by yourself, GO is not working like that it was in the previous CS games. In RO2 you can kill anybody by yourself, get in the cap zone and just wait for someone to come so you can cap eventually. But this is not a big deal because you can simply kill the bastards.

I think RO2 needs some more complicated objective that makes the players to rely more on each other to complete the objective.

Indeed.

If more caps required specific roles in order to be taken, for example, if they had to be blown, then you'd have to work together to get an engineer there and protected long enough to do it. The engineer class needs more love anyway.... :)

Or maybe you'd have to have a minimum of 1 or 2 SL's on an objective? Something instead of always who has the biggest dogpile.

Anyway, it's OT, but more productive than the constant "You suk!" "No! You suk!" nonsense we get into over modes.

If they implement this SL requirement then they have to make all SLs equal. Right now there's no much point to be SL4 for example.

I can get removing commander as a ****ty decision, but seriously you're going to flip out over commrose? when most just used VOIP and more than few just spammed as an easier alternative to mic spam. The point about having skulls and appear on radar with an unsilenced weapon is moot. BF2 had UAVs that were basically temporary maphacks on the map, and dead teamates also appeared on you minimap. Also the much exploited spotting feature (spam enemy spotted while aiming in the general direction of the enemy and they appear and stay on your minimap for a duration) makes the issue look like small patatoes. Like I said most of the changes made to BF3 were aesthetic ones to resemble MW, but the base gameplay lay more or less unchanged.

Just because a game is ported from a console doesn't automatically make it bad game, and it seems absurd to think like that. And also

If you are new to the Battlefield franchise (Bad Company 1 through Battlefield 3) you are part of the new audience. Players that have enjoyed Codename Eagle up to 2142 are part of the old fan base
Its exactly this kind of attitude that makes me unable to take these people seriously. "I've played this game for an arbitrary longer time than you, therefore I'm right" The writer of the article writes like he owns the series (literally) because he played the previous titles. You're right though I can see the resemblance to this situation, same group of delusional egotistical players complaining about everything possible while having a massive victim complex. All while disregarding anyone who disagrees as "casuals" as if that was suppose to be some sort of insult. The article was obviously meant as a public release and sugar coated to hell and back, but you could tell the unique blend of smugness and anger that perforates the same type of posts here.

And also , once again every one misses the point of the argument up to this point, its not about not allowing people to give input and suggestions (which is what a lot of Classic players seem to feel), but a lot of what is being said aren't suggestions but just opportunistic jabs at other players for the sake of satisfying ego. I enjoy Classic too, but I don't go around tell people they're stupid or "ruining the game" if they happen to play something else, nor do I incessantly post the same smug sarcastic remarks on every news post or topic discussing something I don't like. Especially with the amount of customization that is available in RO2, it seems absurd.

Tripwire wanted to make public RO 2 and not created a casual FPS.

Few people can think easily :

And if RO 2 is not casual, what is still casual in RO 2 ? what is keep RO 2 in casuality ?

So by this way it will be very easy to answer :

How we can say RO 2 is casual ? If RO 2 is casual i don't know what can be realist FPS. RO 2 is not casual game.
