You will find the full details on the Steam web pages - please click HERE.

About the game

Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is the hit WWII game that has tens of thousands of people playing online every day. Try out over 30 infantry weapons and control 16 different fully-realised vehicles on the Russian Front of WWII between 1941 and 1945. Jump into that vast and violent battlefield across 15 diverse maps, ranging from the gritty, close-quarters infantry combat of Stalingrad or Danzig, through wider combined-arms fighting at Basovka or on the approaches to the Reichstag, all the way out to open tank battles at Arad or Ogledow. I think that they meant Barashka (and Ogledow isn't a open tank battle ;) )

Ugh, Well, if im going to play I might as well break out my "AskMeQuestions" tag and get my typing fingers ready.

Edit: DEVS Might I be so bold as to suggest that your free weekend in-game news include a very strong recomendation that new players play at least one round offline before jumping into the frey? It would make everyone (including the freebees) happier and generally more satisfied with the experience.

someone from the previous thread said:
I know what you're saying guys, in relation to the new players asking questions galore. Myself being a new player from the last free week, I know I appreciated the help given. Being a bit more experienced now, I guess its my turn this time to offer advice.

A bit of friendly patience for a few days, while we try to make the experience easier for the new players, might encourage them to realise that RO has a damned good and friendly group of players. Something that they may want to be part of. It makes the game more accessible for them, and we then get more players buying the full product hopefully, which means more full servers.

someone else from said thread said:
I'm also a new player from the last free week and I think you are right - we need to nurse and help the free-players and I'm ready to take my turn now. It's in everybodys interest that they feel welcome and have a good weekend with RO.

LOL, It looks as if we've gone from simply being nice to noobs to the "Proper Care and Feeding of RO Newborns".

Thanks. I'm again trying to get some family to try this.

Dumb suggestion: Last time around, a number of server admins changed their names to include something like "Newbies welcome" ... Might be worth a try again.

As a relative veteran the last time around, I think I did some good by occasionally posting, "Any new guys having questions or problems? Use T to talk." or something similar.
