It's all about attitude, not listening to the requests of the community because they are the 0.001% then asking "what do you want in your game (which should already be there) ?" is a bit ironical isn't it ?

It's not about price, it's not about improvements pace, it's about the relationship between TWI and people playing their game.

But alright, i'm not capable of improving a game apart from giving ideas in order to do so, but are we customers really expected to do that ?

EDIT : Man take it easy, we're trying to help them improve the game, and pointing out what's wrong is part of it. We're not all nerds, i do make snow forts, but i like involving myself in a forum, and so do you with 1000+ posts :D

Earth.
I'd love to see a kettenkrad (and maybe a halftrack), for the huge maps.

Hell I'd love to see new maps at all!

I think the upgrade thing is a gimmick, unnecessary. Really. But eh.

BUT, squads and hit detection is a priority right now imo.

AND THE MUSIC, PLEASE FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

my main thing first would be to fix up the game play generically. New features are nice sure but I first want to enjoy whatever is there.

In a quick way I'd want close range combat, to be more slow (cutting the pie before entering the room instead of going in gun blazing). Main thing here is probably the speed to go into iron sight especially right after sprinting.

However I want long range combat to be faster, with people mostly going for cap zones and advancing, rather than sitting somewhere taking pot shots. Making long range more difficult (more sway / less zoom) would get people to fight at closer ranges giving overall more action. And making it easier to gauge your environment on the move (a bit less headbob and ability to go to normal vision when running) would imo help a lot as well.

And for the sake of controlling your character I hope the zoom sliders make it back, with perhaps an option for inverse free aim.

Currently in free aim your gun moves quicker than your screen till it hits the boundary, it would be nicer if the gun actually moved slower than your screen till it hits the boundary. As this would allow you to aim more accurately when something is close to the tip of the gun.

'Realism' all of the way, for certain; however, I seriously doubt that anything on that list would get voted down. If the purpose of the poll is to decide which elements of the game the majority of players would like to see worked on next then 'Realism' game play changes would evidently be the most impactful; and that's fine as long as low votes for things like fixing the injury system aren't interpreted as being very low levels of support for such a change, because that would be an incorrect assumption to make. A good number of those poll items, including the injury system, all sit under the ‘Realism’ umbrella as far as I’m concerned so having to choose only one was somewhat cruel. ;)

Oh, and seasoned gratings to one and all.

Realism Mode: More changes to game play in this mode (sway/speed/fatigue, ie: More realistic)

However, concerning the "speed" part of that, sprint and jogging speeds are fine as they are at the moment. All it needs is less responsiveness when turning at speed, and I suppose slowing down up stairs. Oh, and no RO:Ost-style Parkinsons sway please.

Also a more in-depth injury system ie. not being able to ADS when shot in the arm, being restricted to prone when being shot in the thigh, reduced stamina if shot in the torso, etc., "fixed" by bandaging (which should take more time ofc)

Thanks Tripwire, and a Merry Christmas to you :IS2: <-- this tank needs a santa hat.

Vote: REALISM MODE.

Realism Mode.
Realism Mode.
Realism Mode.
Realism Mode.
More realism to the realism mode.
Increase the realism.
We need more realism
To the realism mode.

- Improved Commander system (removing arty targets from map, more )
- More changes to game play in this mode (sway/speed/fatigue, ie: More realistic)
- Changed/Improved Features: Bleeding, bandaging
- Changed/Improved Features: Improved squad system (interface, functionality)
- Tanks: Reduced max tank limit (Improved tank stability/functionality and additional map content)

And..

I decided to gather the most requested things that TWI should implement with a few threads with good ideas:
1.Fixed tanks, better interface to enter tanks with other people
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=71970

2.More realistic bandaging and wounding system (or completely remove bandaging)
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=70188&highlight=bandage

3.Completely remove the ranking system or make it purely cosmetic
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=71434&highlight=ranking+system

4.Option for native languages
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=72060

5.Choosable REALSTIC unlocks

6.Sprint speed and everything else regarding movement
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=71407

7.Now i dont know if it is a bug but lack of footsteps and lack of long deathscreams

8.An option to completely remove the music including sound ques when you level up and capture

9.Little bit more sway
I really hope TWI will listen to these request's and i think a lot of people will agree with me that the most hardcore TWI fans deserve this + a lot of people will get back

Realism Mode: More Changes to game play in this mode (sway / speed / fatigue, ie: More realistic)

Hoping to find RO1 gameplay and my feelings...

My opinions are well known at the office and are not relevant for this poll. It exists because one of my jobs is to make sure that all the voices in the community are heard.

is unfortunate ...
It would be good to know where you want to go ...

Obviously I'm disappointed in the game ..
(I just accumulated 27 hours of play because I feel like playing COD).

I will not go again on the game without major changes to the gameplay.

I wish you a happy new year 2012 and it brings you health, and good work commitments!
I have always admired your work, but I'm starting to lose faith.
In still hope soon to share the passion of the game with Tripwire ...

Sweet Jebus, some people pay $20 for a game, play more hours of the game than they'd get in WoW for that much money.... and suddenly you get a pile of self-entitled princesses writing up their analysis of what Trip's real intentions are when they don't know anymore than anybody else & basically dictating how they think they should run their business, like they have a clue about any of that in the first place.

Ok i paid $40 so did alot of other people. Also they made good profits surpassing the 5 years the original RO1 was on sale. So they are not so much a indie game maker as they make out.
They had 2 page spreads in PCPP and other magazines etc..

That aint eaxactly indy if that is the angle you want to push eing a small developer.

If i spent 1million dollars on 1 copy of RO2 to play it... why is it any diffrent if 50,000 people spend $20 WOuld i have more rigt to demand fixes?
No.. it makes no diffrence.
The game has to be fixed ASAP and they should spend all there time doing so until it is fixed, that is there obligation when they take lots of small amounts of money off lots of people. Just because the load is spread does not make it any less pertanent. The $20 argument is strawman at best.

And as for people telling them how to run there buisness... TWI started this POLL. They are asking us and we are telling them.... Forget what you have in your poll......Get the game working first.

I was expecting a nice patch around christmas that would have most bugs ironed out, good performance and some new map vehicles for the holidays.

Dosnt look like it by the sound of this update. Disappointed.

How slow the patches are taking?

By all means, show us all how it's done. I would find it fascinating, I'm sure.

They could go over and ask Id Software... maybe they will help show them how to build and game ? Perhaps use there buisness model?

Oh Trip is just stating the obvious and stalling for time?

Last I checked, they have continually stated what they are working on, and even more so since they've been providing these threads telling us what's up. They have focused on performance and bug issues since the Beta, and even as some of you are saying, Performance for the game is almost perfect.

They have also promised the SDK, more content for christmas.
And performance for the game is not almost perfect... you are kidding your self. The hit register issue is a massive problem that effects game play... how can you say it is almost perfect?

The community has been debating all of those issues in the poll for a long time, but at the same time, the community also stated that performance was the primary concern. What good is it to change around the game and add new content if people can't even get to any of it to try it out?

Most of those complaining like myslef are arguing that TWI making a poll that appears will decide what content the game will receive is outragous... when we only want the basic game fixed and the SDK.

They've basically gotten the performance stuff all straightened out with the exception of a couple of minor things....
HIT REGISTER

Want it all to go faster?

Drop off a Resume.

Or do the right thing.... get some cash you made for the reasonable success and get some **** hot ring in programmers 3d artists etc.. and get them to help get the game going... why drop off a resume when they have not even advertised to get help to fix it as far as i know.

Otherwise, wait like the rest of us.... it's people like what I see in here that make me think keeping the community informed about what's going on is asking too much now, and feel bad I even made the suggestion a while back, because as soon as one thing is said that isn't quite right, out come the conspiracy theories and people twisting what's been said to mean whatever the hell they want it to mean.

IT is not the keeping the community informed being a problem....it is creating such a stupid Poll when the game is not working and then saying they are going on holidays ....even though for weeks they have been saying the SDK is close.. ohh it is next week... stating they are testing maps or hoping new content for christmas. Keep us informed..... but dont piss on ours heads and tell us it is raining.

No additional stuff to keep you guys occupied over Christmas Break?

Go build a snow fort, get off your arses and go do something with your lives besides play video games and b*tch all day on forums about those video games.

I live in the same city as you it will most likely be 43degrees.
And currently im working my *** off with work... the few public holidays that are coming up will be the only chance i get to spend a few hours insted of 1/2 hour here and there, to play.

Hell if I can do it, so can you..... just peel yourself off your chair, don't look at the stain and head towards the light.... that's the window by the door. Open the door beside that light by twisting the knob-looking thing and pull.

WOW.... The outside world!!!

Dude... i work outside already in my job the whole day... public holidays are the only chance i get to be inside and play some games.

Damn thats a hard one to make a choice, really it's between the top two. Infact surely the top two should be one choice no?

Actually aren't most of those choices realism issues???

Indeed. It's a safe bet that most people voting for 'realism' would not get what they think they're asking for. Increased realism would, sure, generally bump up inaccuracy and reload time, but not by as much as most people ask for. It would also bring things like:

A significantly increased sprint speed and sprint duration. The "sprint" speed in RO2 is 5 m/s, which is, at best, a jog, even counting weapon & ammo weight. Military training routinely involves moving quicker, for longer, with more weight. An average fit person could 'sprint' across an entire RO2 map at the game's pace.

Hugely increased grenade & artillery lethality, a stronger MKb42, and PTRS effectiveness reduced to basically nothing. The are all intentionally skewed from appropriate figures, as gameplay tweaks.

Hugely increased zoom. Getting realistic acuity on typical monitor resolutions these days would require roughly three times more zoom than RO2 maxes out at currently.

More SMGs. Way more SMGs. The PPSh was everywhere in Stalingrad. Russian, German, you name it, it's hard to find a period picture that doesn't have one. RO2's quantity of them is awfully conservative by comparison. Oh, and it would not kick as much and be more lethal too ;)

It's all well and good to ask for more realism, but it's not a very helpful term when it comes to describing what people actually want. Pretty much everyone who uses the word realism means something different by it.

in b4 million downvotes from "realism experts"

I sure already got one.

Agree with you. Speed is good, more sway just after a long run for example, when soldiers are tired.

Red Orchestra 2 is the best multiplayer game out there, it need some balancing, but not radical changes.
