I believe this encapsulates what has happened to you arguments, and I don't think anyone needs reminding what the caption should be.

Spoiler!

Want Deathmatch? Go play UT or CSS. KF is survival horror game not a DM game. Of DM-like things I think only fitting would be Versus such as the one made by TheBlackCheetah.

And the other games you are talking about are surprisingly still very alive and popular.

The diversity of gameplay as well as modability for the games you have listed are what keep the community thriving. Custom skins, sounds, models, GUIs, etc.

A versus mode would be very fun in my opinion, because as of right now the A.I. pathfinding in Killing Floor leaves a lot to be desired.

Having a human-controlled wave of enemies would definitely add to the thrill of the game and demolish the linear feel the game currently has.

I agree with you wholeheartedly that a Versus mode would breathe life back into the game.

UT99 was released sometime in '99-'00, and I still play it till today. The servers are hundreds out there, and not that difficult finding players in it.

CSS was released somewhere at '04 and don't ask whether is it easy to find players in it. Valve still update it to this second with numerous of bugfixes and such.

KF IS fun and insane at a time, blood splat and the hordes of monsters coming at you. But how will KF survived on this single mode play it provide, coop vs AI when most of the players got their perks maxed out. Figure it out.

It is fun but the game has become sort of "pattern" even for me who got this game in mere weeks. Search for the best spot where the monsters will line up for the kills, go to the trader, go back to the spot and kill.

L4D got the faction vs mode, some guys gets to be the zombie while other gets to be the survivor. I admit I didn't play this mode much tho. But seems the mode got tons of players in it aswell.

And L4D got tons of different additional modes in it, which the game is still mainly known as co-op vs zombies game.

Yes, versus mode, which is far from deathmatch. And there is already a KF versus mode. It was a big fad for a while, but, according to Oliver, it just didn't really work (I myself could never find the server:eek:)

not sure what's the diff between vs and dm mode you were saying here. you get to play as zombies raiding the humans. Quite similar like those team-based pvp games such as CS. Only the weapons are very different. The zombies mostly melee and the humans armed with weapons.

But this isn't exactly what I had in mind aswell. THAT would cost ALOT of work to the dev team. Since the monsters are basically designed not playable by human.

DM however, as I've said, add spawn points, add leaderboard, and the ability to shoot other players, you have a DM.

looking at killing strike seems quite fun. But the mod is frontally challenging CS, let alone with the dust map.

But yeah, whatever.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow...
Play CS:S, play tf2, play UT, play COD, play any of the MULTITUDES of other games that specialize in deathmatch mechanics if you want deathmatch. NOBODY cares if killing floor ever has a deathmatch mode because it's a coop game.

BESIDES the amount of manpower you need to implement this into the game, which twi has none due to RO:HOS. So really, just forget about it and move onto a new game bro.
