I thought they could be turned off completely? All the hardcore servers still have them as delayed. Was this feature removed, or just no one is turning them off?

I don't know, but I sure would like to have them completely off, then after the round is over you get to see how you did :)

Probably something else that got taken out of the game without warning.

I've seen them turned off, but it is a game, you should know if you got a kill. You can check the scoreboard anyways to see if you killed him, so it is pointless to disable them outright.

True, but at least someone with the discipline can have his immersion.

If there is no message at all, it doesn

I was helping someone test out a server and I asked about kill messages, but there didn't appear to be any settings for them. However, I recall reading somewhere on the forum yesterday that TW had some more stuff on the way for servers; whether or not it's true is beyond me.

I prefer the killfeed turned ON. Simply because it adds the range meter which makes for some cool screenshots :)

I've played on a few servers without messages and a few that only give messages when you've been killed.

I really like the default message method at least, it seems that the harder to see an enemy die the longer it takes to get the kill feed. (If you shoot someone and he gets behind a wall then goes into slow death the feed takes a long time to appear)

I also have a question. Why sometimes (on relaxed realism) death messages shows with delay? It happens to me from time to time, sometimes message is delayed, sometimes it shows immediately.

I wasn't really debating delayed, off, or instant. Just seeing if they were still able to be turned off. I knew it was touted as being able to do, just hadn't seen it yet.

If I could just disable my HUD entirely, that would be the best. I don't care who I killed or who killed me. I know when I drop someone don't have to read the text to find out.

I know that FK realism server has them off for certain (like they had in RO1 as well), don't know of any others currently (and I have tried quite a few Euro realism servers).

I only played with no death messages in RO:OST. It adds so much more depth to the game. I'm still waiting to find a server like this for RO2.
