This is quite a small annoyance for me, but when shooting someone with my trusty mp40, the second they die, the bullets stop having an impact on the body even if the dead guy is still falling to the ground. That is to say, the bullets pass through as if through a ghost.

I wouldn't mind if the bullets passed through the bodies like usual, so long as there is a visual affect, i.e. blood, which would make it feel like the body have actual mass. This would also mean that people wouldn't use bodies for cover, because the bullets would pass through like normal.

Thoughts?

Ragdolls are client-side, so there is no way currently bullets could be actually hitting a body, I believe.

I actually don't find it too annoying actually, because of how well death animations are done. As the ragdoll physics aplly to when someone is shot, not being able to shoot the body arround in the aftermath is not much of a problem. :) IMO, that is.

I wasn't actually talking about the bodies ragdolling. I just meant that when you shoot a dead body, there should be a visual reaction i.e. blood should shoot out, no ragdoll needed. I doubt it would affect load time or performance either.

It'd be a nice touch, but its fairly low on the list of priorities atm.

Okay everybody, when your bullet hits a dead body, the "hit" sound effect plays just like when you shoot a living person. Anything else just takes up needed CPU cycles in my opinion.

This. Enough for me. If you like, you can shoot the dead bodies lying on stretchers in most maps--plenty of spraying blood and gore there for you sadists ;).
