Darkest Hour March Press Release: Release Date Announced!

Welcome to the Darkest Hour March Press Release. As many of you will no doubt have realized by the news title and banner Darkest Hour now officially has a release date. You can be expecting to storm the beaches and drop from the skies above Normandy in May 2008. More details of the first release will be coming soon but until then we have another media update for you to enjoy.

The first piece of content we are proud to present this month is the British Commonwealth Infantry model. This model, like the Brit Paras last month, was created by Tman and Nights2006 with the gear model donated by Andrei313. Both model and gear were textured by Aeneas2020. The model comes in a number of varieties for each different unit represented in game including British and Canadian variants along with both the MkII and MkIII helmets. The Brit infantry are making their first appearances on DH battlefields as this article is being typed and we hope to bring you some in game images in the near future.

Another piece of content making a debut on the DH battlefield in the near future is the deadly M10 Wolverine. Modeled by Tman and Textured by Aeneas2020 this famous tank destroyer will be adding some clout to the allied line up (including the British Achilles variant). Although lacking the best armor and possessing a turret traverse time that can only be described as glacially slow the M10 was numerically the most important tank destroyer of the Allied forces in Normandy. When combined with the M4 Sherman and M5 Stuart the M10 completes a formidable armored opponent for the Axis tankers.

Lastly we are pleased to unveil a weapon that has been much demanded, since the days of RO:CA, the Fallschirmj

Looks great, but would love to see the FG42 scoped :). Been waiting for that mg for that sole reason. Maybe make to variants and it is down to the mger selecting the class which one.

Good stuff!

Will it have a scoped version? I believe they were more common then unscoped?

We havent planned for a scoped one atm...the model in game is the earlier variant (just in case anyone is interested). We'll see what time and resources permits.

And there is still some final bonuses to be included with final release Just wait and see ;). and about the fg42 scoped, i heard it was more common after Normandy so to be exact around operation market garden would be more favorable for it :).
