Dark Souls! You are already dead...

The game arrived.

I love the visuals and animations, they are really improved from Demon's Souls. The armor designs are beautiful and I'm very happy how my character turned out.

So I made a Thief, just like in Demon's Souls, and I think I'm already regretting it, cause the game is trolling me hard, but that goes away every time I do a successful riposte and feel like a ****ing hero, even against the most basic enemies.

This for me is game of the year but if you look around on forums and the like there are some of Demon's Souls vet who say that the game is broken and unplayable. That sounds kind of familiar though but what do I know, eh?

After being away from the forums due sickness I havent been able to share my Dark Souls experiences

Just created my Chaos Blade and had some fun playin coop with some people I summoned last night.
I must say that where I am right now you really start to appreciate coop

Well, reclaiming those 6000 souls and 2 humanity will be FUN. Possibly in the dwarf fortress kind of way.

I rang the first bell
Killed the Golem under the blacksmith's room
Killed 2 black knights
Killed the Moonlight Butterfly

Killed the Capra Demon

And now I have 4 options and I'm not sure how to proceed.

1- Go from the beginning to New London
2- Go to the sewers where an undead girl is selling stuff
3- Try to kill the Hydra but that one so far seems completely impossible with those long range bombs she throws I can't even reach her.
4- Go to the underground, below the Capra Demon's room.

I think I'll try my chances with the sewers.

Just saw this, farm some baddies using the crest to open up the forst door (which costs 20k souls from Andrei but worth every penny) but be careful if you going in there in human form, kill the unique baddies there (3 of them) you will be able to farm that area for 7000 per pop (think 4-2 from Demon's). If you do go into the Depths, watch the ceiling and the floor, if you see what looks like a cute frog just ****ing run if there is more than 1. I'm not kidding, you can one shot them for 200 souls but its NEVER worth it...

HOOORY SHIIIT!

This game is just incredibly good. Few games can be said to be able to live up to their hype, but this one is definitely one of them. Just WOW!

Today I've been playing almost the whole day without dying once, but by playing super extra careful the whole time, so I feel like I earned it.

Went to the sewers, invoked 2 phantoms, and we killed the rat, then a black phantom attacked and we killed him, we went even lower and killed the dragon.

Then I ventured into Blighttown, holy **** that was scary, so dark, dangerous and with a horrible fps, I managed to reach the first bonfire somehow, and I invoked a phantom to help me advance. We went down slowly but steady, but at one point climbing down a ladder, I got infected with some toxic crap that was eating away all my life, that made me spend all my potions, and when I took the last one, I discovered a cure in the inventory, I ate it just in time, but I was one hit away from dying and we still had to cross the poisoned swamp and kill the Spider Witch, so I let my phantom go always in front of me.

We managed to get down and cross the swamp, there was a new bonfire there, but the game didn't let me lit it cause I was in coop so I couldn't refill my flask, so I was still ****ed, no bonfire for me, however, I activated a new summoning sign there and I got a second companion.

We ventured towards the boss and we got invaded by a black phantom, which we killed (My companions did, I was just ****ting my pants in a corner cause 1 hit would mean death to me) Killing him gave us a massive amount of souls and 3 humanities. I used one to re-fill my health and we continued towards the boss. That black phantom was a saving grace for me.

The spider witch was sexy but scary, since I entered first without any previous knowledge, I just tried to dodge, but the fire got me and almost killed me, luckily my companions arrived in time, and we managed to kill her by surrounding her and attacking from all directions.

I guess that playing alone all those areas would have involved lots of retries.

Out of curiosity how does the summoning thing work? I mean it seems like it'd be annoying to be dragged out of your own game to play in someone else's, so I must not be understanding it.

You place a sign on the ground, and when another player sees it, he can touch it and summon you.

Finished the game yesterday, started ng+, and already the got the lord vessel in NG+ a few hours later.
You level up so fast in NG+, and you fly through the game. Was tonnes of fun ringing the 2 bells in less than 3 hours !

Considering i was at least 40 hours in before i rang the 2 bells the first time.

I hope they patch it to fix the scaling and imbalance issues. I'll probably stop playing until then. Then i might re-roll a new character.

I just did, took me a lot of trying but in the end I found a way to easily kill him.

I need to upgrade my Estoc, but I don't know what to do with it. Lighting, Fire, Magic, Divine, or Raw.
