I thought about the Sp for a while and my idea was that instead of doing a single person 20 mission campaign surviving the onslaught of the battle they put a slight spin on it.

Every mission is a memoir or an exert from a diary or a letter of a soldier and the events that took place which are described in the writing - you obviously take his place in the firefight or the mission and as you finish it it tells you of their fate.

Throw some footage and commentary inbetween the missions.

This makes it very personal and is probably the best way to truly show the grim reality of the war.

e.g. Fritz writing in his diary about the fight for Mamaev Kurgan
or
Ivan writing a farewell letter home before theyre sent to fight for the Traktor works

I find it a little ridiculous that in other FPS campaigns, you go about with fancy facepaint and the best American gun ever made doing a squad/solitary missions, killing thousands and blowing up the enemy base. That's not practical. Now that I think about it, a holy cinema type campaign would probably be more scenes of little funnies and bad feelings than actually playing.

A little cutscene to end the mission or something would be nice though. I guess I'm not really sure if I want cutscenes or not though...
