Tried it and here's what I think of it so far.
Graphics are meh, nothing like they've been using as the selling point of the game. Gameplay is meh also. It plays like BF2 but on a smaller scale and everyone has a suit that does a very mediocre job at giving you "powers". Guns feel like crappy peashooters that take half a mag to kill someone.
Overall very disappointing even for a beta.

So how does this work? Do I have to join one of the three subscription plans listed (quarterly, annually, founders) or can I just pay 5 bucks for one month and then refresh monkey the page?
Also, In what way does it look worse than far cry: Lighting, textures, models, etc. ? In multiplayer, are there vehicles? Can you shoot the jerry can on the back of the jeep and catch it on fire? Do helicopters get shot down without killing the pilot (like, just blowing the whole thing up, but rather something mechanically fails and sends it into the ground ala. black hawk down), like they said they were trying to do.

The beta is now out for everybody, but it seems that keys are still limited. Also, if they deny you because your system specs are "too low", just delete cookies and temporary internet files and try again.
yeah i had to lie to be able to get a key and download it.
downloading now, will tell how it is when i try it out.
my comp specs:
geforce 7600gs (512mb)
P4 3.4ghz w/HT
2.5gb RAM
directx 9, winxp
i wonder what the limit is for them to accept you? i just lied and said i had the highest they had there.

seems to run fairly well on my machine, so i cant ooh and ah about the graphics, better than farcry, even at lowest, runs alright.
gameplay is different than others, you get different activations with the suit, like cloaking (which looks rad), defense, punching/jumping, and running. and you run out of electricity for each one, but it recharges.
the guns are cool, you can modify them (purchase different accessories) like put a sniper scope on a shotgun, silencers and things, course it has all kinds of grenades, even get claymores, and "prototype weapons" which i havent tried out yet.
so its basically a different kind of multiplayer experience, if you have the chance, try it out. i just may have to get new hardware for my computer.... well basically a new computer (i still have agp)
and there's vehicles in it too, tanks trucks, **** like that, alien things i think. i only played it a bit, i'll have to do more soon.

Doesn't work for me. Every server I've tried to connect to just disconnects instantly, doesn't even load the map, and yes I have the latest version of the game and my firewall settings are all in order.
Urgh, my 7900GT didn't quite display the game correctly: huge yellow blops acting as sprites etc. It ran quite well but the graphics bugged like hell.
You have to wait for all the textures to load. use all the weapons at least once. In this day and age where everything can be microwaved nobody has any patience.
It runs fine on my 7600gs@1024x768. it would be nice to have a better video card and system cause some ppl say it looks awesome on their "8800"s or whatever is the best card nowadays, in dx10, etc.
but i'm just glad it runs on my system.
I waited at least 20 minutes and half of the textures never loaded. Even tried putting it on all low, still the same deal.
Got pretty good fps on medium settings though, just couldn't tell what the **** was going on.
