Yeah when I first started playing the mod I was terrified by the lack of crosshair. But I mastered that and I felt like TOTAL BADASS! Then I introduced the mod to my friends I was like "watch this bro 8)". Actually this was the reason for me to start turning off the crosshair in every FPS games except CS and BF. I realized that I simply don't need it anymore. And because of that I feel more powerful somehow. That I can do well without some assisting mechanic.

Why you want to take such unique feature out of such wonderful game is beyond me :(

Agreed. I can't remember another store released FPS (non-modded) that doesn't have crosshairs. Only this small list:

R01
RO2
KF1

TWI are the masters of "non-crosshair" gameplay :)

This is a feature that ever so slightly dumbs down the game. It's not huge, but it will make the game easier, and I think you know what most of the core audience feel about difficulty in this game. We want it brutal.
Yeah, they want it brutal, so they won't turn on the crosshair in options.

Not sure I see the problem here.

How is this an issue? People could just mark the center of the screen anyway. It's not like anyone is being hurt by this.

If all of my team choose to enable it, they are actually impacting my gameplay by making the game easier overall.

It's not huge, but it does make it easier. As some have suggested, auto-disable crosshair on anything above Normal difficulty is also a viable solution.

The problem is the inclusion of crosshairs negates the KF flight or fight gameplay. In KF1 you have a choice..Do you run away while firing blindly at the enemy trying to direct your cone of fire or stand ground and fire accurately whilst ADS?

It would seem the inclusion of crosshairs in KF2 removes that core gameplay choice by allowing you to score headshots easily while hipfiring during flight.

That's not the same in the least, is a drawing going to magically spread open when running? Or go smaller for accuracy when you are crouching? :p

I don't mind it being added, and I got ~340 hours in Killing Floor. If anything, it should make some perks more reliable such as Medic who may not have the time to ADS and then heal someone in a sticky situation.

And you cannot complain about a feature that can be turned off or on, let a player enjoy the game in however way they desire.

Honestly I think CS:GO players will appreciate this the most, i'm torn about it though. I have no clue if i'm going to use it or not, power gamer in me says yes, but considering how fun the challenge was in KF1 I say no. It being off in harder difficulties or as a server-side option seem like VERY good compromises.

Wow.

It's one thing to not like TWI putting in (optional, turned off from the start) crosshairs, which I could understand, as no crosshairs added to the unique and enjoyable gunplay. It's another to act like spoiled children because one thing didn't come out the way you wanted it.

All I can say that Necjoo didn't say was I guarantee the people that fling **** at TWI for adding in optional crosshairs (when they already exist anyways out-of-system) are in the minority.

Some people will want to play with the crosshair, not because it's easier, but because that's what most FPS games have, and they can give useful info like the current gun's spread, whether it widens after a shot, whether the spread is smaller when crouched, et cetera. Let them play with it on. It's not going to hurt your experience, and it's certainly not going to make the game a cakewalk because oh no that guy on your team has a crosshair enabled this match is RUINED better just find a new game to play.

Not to mention how this one thing you guys picked out, when there's so much more cool, new, and interesting things to pay attention to in the video, like a first-ever look at one of the new bosses, new info, and much more, this one thing made you that mad.

If it was just a "I understand TWI adding the crosshair as an optional feature, but I personally disagree with the idea" kind of post, then yeah, I'd see where you're coming from, KF has historically been a no crosshair game. But, honestly, is the whole world going to end just because a TWI game has an optional crosshair setting?
Jeez, everybody's entitled to having an opinion and expressing it however they like as long as they're not insulting somebody etc. You can comment if you have feedback, you don't have to be all roses and candy. Usually people express their negative feedback more strongly than positive feedback, get over it.

I'm kind of indifferent to this matter but come on, calling others children for having a different opinion is low. Everybody was being perfectly appropriate.

I still find this to be a rather poor argument. As I was discussing with crazyjake in the news thread, there are all sorts of variables that would affect the game in this way. If a skilled zerker joins your pub room and leaves the group, stealing the attention of half the zeds, then they're making the game easier for you too. Or if a better player who has higher perk level than you joins, their access to better team support skills will make it easier. It doesn't mean their freedom to play with you should be limited.

But he did make a good point about the difficulty of balancing the game. I agree that the locking of crosshairs to certain difficulties a reasonable solution as far as I can tell.

There are actually keys being given out right now via Twitter. However, with thousands of people F5ing, it's hard to snatch a working one.

That's bull****! Whats the point? Just to piss people off? You know that there are 99999 people willing to pay for the game right damn now! Why they don't want our money? Logic 101

Disallowing crosshairs on high difficulties sounds good but on the other hand anybody could still just mark their screen center. It's a mixed deal.

To stress test the servers and to fish for obscure, last minute bugs that the limited number of players who've played the game already may not have experienced. So that when EA launches, you don't have 99999 people complaining about server crashes and weird glitches that no one at TWI or the earlier beta testers have seen before. That's the point.

Still kinda weird to ignore the forums for that. From what the Twitter feed looks like, it's mostly gamer grills and streamers on the receiving end. Maybe that's the point. ;)
