Worked fine until I was lagging so bad I changed the rendering device to software. The game restarted and I got this critical error:

Build RedOrchestra_Build_[2005-11-27_10.48]
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 3195 MHz with 510MB RAM
Video: No Video
General protection fault!
History: FPixoRenderInterface::popState <- ULevel::BuildRenderData <- UGameEngine::Draw <- UWindowsViewport::Repaint <- UWindowsClient::Tick <- ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- Level Untitled <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 4C576C61 0 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 0*2 <- FMallocWindows::Free

I've tried rebooting and re-verifying my cache, my last resort is re-downloading the game.

I'm getting the same error. The PC is brand new (6 weeks old) with uptodate hardware and drivers so I don't believe an outdated driver is the problem.

I've been playing COD2 daily for several hours at a crack with no issues until now.

I got this error only after I unintalled ZA. Before that all I got was the BSOD. So there are multiple problems here not just one.

I have to say I'm a little taken aback by the difficulty people are having. There are always some that have trouble with a new game, especially if the hardware requirements are steep but this is different. This is.....well....amatuerish.

Note to the developers: next time consider broadening your beta test group.

Still waiting patiently for the patch.......:)

Hey - 1st post on here and it's about support :eek:

First time I ran the game it was fine, but during the 1st session I also was pretty annoyed as the motion blur effect isn't working for me either - I've a feeling it might be a gfx card issue ? - I've got two 7800 GTX cards in SLI so it may be that as well I suppose - I'll try running one in single frame rendering and see what happens.

In any case, I changed the rendering mode to Software and like many others upon restart the game will not load up due to a critical error stating : No Video etc...

I don't have a definitive fix but if you can, a basic system restore to before you changed the setting i.e. yesterday, I suppose, has reverted all my RO controls and settings back to default and thus the game is loading again.

Hopefully there will be a proper fix soon. I'm half considering choosing the 3rd rendering mode to see if that works but that may screw up my game starting too so I might leave it alone for now :rolleyes:

I was stupid enough to change the settings to 'Software' and now i get exactly the same error. Why put in settings that don't work! I STILL have yet to play the game online, one beacuse they forgot about AOL users (other games work perfectly, so it's not an aol problem) and now the game doesnt work because they added an option that breaks the game. Geniuses.
