Hello, I know this has been a hot topic on the forums but I'm having a lot of difficulty fixing this and I've posted this in the KF bugs forum as well :(

I've tried deleting the ini file and reinstalling the game and deleting the system folder and reinstalling but no avail. I've attached my specs to this post and I'm just looking for the fix :(

Pleaaseeeeeeeeeee

Usually that means there is a corrupt file somewhere, verify the game cache and run a disk check on the drive the game is on.

I've tried verifying the cache and defragging it but I get the same error. By saying disk check on the drive, do you mean the Local Disk?

You can open up the Computer explorer window, right-click on the Local Disk (C:\) drive and click properties, then under Tools click Check now and Start.

I've scanned the C: drive, verified the game cache and defragged it as well but I'm still getting the same error :( and restarted as well and reinstalled it after. Is there any other probable solution? I've still have yet to play it

delete the contents of the system folder, then do the verify thing again, see if that fixes it.
or just delete kfmod.u and verify, if that doesnt fix it, then delete all the contents, then verify.

I've tried the following one at a time, (deleting the system folder then verifying, deleting the kfmod.u file then verifying, and finally deleting all of the content then verifying) and I still get the same error for verbatim :(

OK, I remembered what this problem is, and why it is so difficult to troubleshoot. You are missing a file, or files, that should be in a Windows directory or two.

Search your computer for riched20.dll and riched32.dll - if you cannot find these files then you will have to search Google for them. If you have a 32-bit Windows OS these files need to be in your Windows\system32 folder, and if you have a 64-bit OS they also need to go into the Windows\SySWOW64 folder.

Once you've put them in the correct folders try the game again and it should work.
