well that's how random stuff works, take it from me, it's my name, but seriously just because you see a pattern doesn't mean it's true until you prove it with a BIG sample, or you somehow break the code for how they are generated.

that i aside i would also like something to do with all those crates and usbs, maybe breaking them into materials like others suggested.

Thats is not how things works in real life, there is something called statistics out there, and it can prove with out BIG sample or breaking any code.
I just got an mint dosh weapon playing an 6 player hoe game right now, there is no way to get such drop on hard.

well you might be right, i had statistics in college but i'm not an expert and it was a while ago, so i don't know how big a sample you'd need to make to be accurate and differentiate it from a lucky streak, i really doubt it can be done with a group of 1 person and his friends (would have to know how many), but i could be wrong, also other people have reported great drops in low difficulty.

i would probably research it if a cared a bit more about drops, currently i'm more interested in the main topic of this thread on how to get rid of crates without hassle.

Drops are random and time based. There is nothing tying the type of drop received to the difficulty you play. You can get all types except precious on any difficulty, solo, multiplayer, or vs.

Thanks for the clarification.

Could you please share a little about the algorithm? I understand if you can't for business reasons but I seem to recall some announcement relatively recently that it was tweaked to be more likely to give you items you don't already have. Since then I have gotten a ton of crates and USBs (but that could be just me). In particular, how likely are you to get a crate/USB, or a drop of a certain rarity, and how likely are unlocked crates/USBs to be a certain rarity or condition?

Thing is, you can't even remove them from the inventory...

Yee, currently you can only sell it. I like the idea to be able to craft with it, it would do.

Ok, well strait up I personally think that the way this is implemented SUCKS. It sucks on every single level and if every drop I get is a Crate or USB, then it sure doesn't feel random to me =/

It feels more like TWI shoving their market **** in my face to try and get me to buy keys, instead of a fun "extra" that adds a bit more enjoyment to the game.

Yeah, if I could convert those POS USB/crates into materials I wouldn't care but the 80% of the time I get them it gets depressing because it's like not getting a drop at all. I can sell those stupid things for 1 cent a piece but please just let me convert them into something useful.

Currently there's OVER 9000!!! Predator USB's for sale on the market, 8,100 Emergency Issue USB's and three more that are well over 5,000. Maybe it's just me but imo it looks like no one wants these things, USB/Crates are so over saturated on the market that calling them completely worthless would be kind.

Well, that explains why I get better drops when playing harder difficult... Anyways, that is bad game design, the way it is makes very easy to exploit it to get better drops. I really hope TW have plans to change it, I think it should be related with : 1) the difficult, 2) the n of waves, 3) the n of players, 4) how good the player was ( not related with the kills, just make an algorith that gives more drop chance for good play style where each class x weapon configuration is different ).

Um, you didn't read Kittenmittens's post. Let me highlight the important parts.

i.e not exploitable like you claim it is, because difficulty affects nothing.

All of that is 100% exploitable. It sounds like a fun idea, but it would serve as nothing more than motivation to game the system. As it is now, it is at least statistically fair.
