Not sure how much good any of this will do as it does seem the game is slowly wilting away...barely any servers, barely any players...depressing.

Anywhoz, if the game does get back on its feet can you please do something about the new cover features....90% of the time they do more harm then good!
"Cant go prone here" "cant aim weapon further" makes trying to fight an open battle kind of closed off.
How can I be told where I can and cant lye down?
And ive tried it to no avail but has the ability of being able to shoot another players gun from their hand gone?
So many times i see the barrel and a hand sticking around a corner, shoot it full of holes but the gun stays there and seemingly with no damage taken?

The only place I use cover is in Spartanovka, apart from that I experience everything you are and I've probably gotten less than 10 kills using the cover system. Sometimes you'll get lucky and cover and peek out and see an enemy that doesnt notice you and you score a kill, his friend will notice you though which is realistic I guess and kill you. The whole cannot go prone is a pain thats true. As a whole the cover system feels lacking.

The cover system is quite a sham. It is more restricting and provides little benefit in aiming. It's much easier to free aim standing up or crouching.
It was rare for anyone to notice anyone at a longer distance, as the guns all sound muffled even very close up.
I couldn't go prone in an open ground. Died as a result of it. I think I may have rage quit.

Sorry but there are physical limitations to the world as well as the game world. Going prone takes up space and if there is not room for your player model to fit, you can't go prone here. If it's right next a wall, try looking over to the side and voila you can go prone...or back up a bit to give the game more room for your prone player model. To me I'd rather the game not let me prone into a wall, thanks (notwithstanding the actual environment clipping glitches you can encounter in the game lol). As far as can't aim weapon further that's either your body or the weapon is also limited physically by the environment. A lot of times there's something blocking your legs and you didn't realize it.

Shooting weapons out of hands is gone, sadly. There is also mention somewhere on the boards that states damage taken to arms (hands) and legs (feet) is capped to prevent a killshot to those locations, and add to that no injury penalties what so ever, this all adds up to why shooting an exposed hand or foot amounts to just about bu99er all in RO2 (w/ the insta-bandage silliness).

I can agree with that.. I pumped about 7 MP40 rounds into a Russian's foot about 5m away and I just listened to them bandaging away their pain. A grenade finished them, but the fact that I could unload a third of a clip into the foot/lower leg of an opponent to no avail was a little disconcerting.

Leg and arm shots I believe can be fatal, however hand and foot shots (as you mentioned) can not be. Had some trouble understanding you, and just trying to clear it up.

There's quite a learning curve for learning how to properly use the cover system. And while it really can be clumsy, if you learn to use it in the right situations you will see that it can offer more advantages than you might have thought were possible before.

I'll give you a few tips that I consider cover useful for.

1. By looking over or around a wall by using the movement keys, without aiming your gun, exposes you far less. With shift you can get equal levels of zoom as with aiming.
The perfect application would be short brief looks, only to scan the horizon quickly for any enemies before engaging in a blind rush.

2. Throwing grenades in cover by blindfiring around the corner is by far the safest option to clear a room. Especially when the enemy does not know you are there.

3. Some ledges can not be looked over with normal zoom, while they can be looked over in cover mode.

Good luck!

Spartanovka would be the only place I can use cover system and feel some what safe. I cannot say I've use cover in other maps.
