Sorry if it's been discussed before (it probably has) But I wanted to put it out there, and hope some mod team picked it up.

It was a gameplay type very similar to Countdown.

With RO1 maps there are 3 linear capture points along the map.
I would like to see both teams start at the middle cap point. Have your standard Countdown round (3-5 minutes) with no respawns. The 2 teams have a standard mix of soldier classes appropriate for the terrain type (Urban, wooded, open field, etc).

Next round the teams spawn back a cap point on the losing teams side of the map. This time the losing team has a more defensive mix of soldier classes (Perhaps an extra MG or 2, etc) And already starts on the Cap point. At that point they cannot win by "caping" it, just by holding it for the allotted time or killing the other team.

Team that wins 2 outta 3 rounds wins the match.

Could be fun with larger maps too. Ones that could hold 5 cap zones. Team that wins 3 outta 5 rounds wins.


Its a variation that has probably already been discussed. And I can see a few potential issues that would need to be worked out, however, it seemed like it might be a fun. I think it's been done in other games, just never seen it with a no respawn gameplay type. Granted, its also 3am, and I cant think.......
