So, I've installed CS:S again and played it a bit with my brother and a friend and the conclusion I've arrived at is that the new Aztec looks a hell of a lot better than the current one... Not that I've ever liked that level much, but at least it looks good now.
Smoke still doesn't have smooth edges. The sprites that go into the ground and walls and you can see the borderlines where they intersect. Maybe smoothing the smoke edges to the world should be an option.
Is it just me or does the cv-47
model (not the animation) look much better than that shiny, smooth new AK? In fact all of the new weapons and their animations look less than stellar. I hope it's because they're still work-in-progress... The maps look so good now, it would be a shame if the weapons took a step backwards.
Zoomed in sniper still looks like from the 90s, early 00s. I understand if they want to stick to their black overlay system for purity's sake, but it's 2011 now: Where are mah fancy distortion effects?
The knife looks very middle-easternish to me. I hope that at least the CTs get a different one!
@melipone:
If you watch this video, near the beginning (around eleven seconds in), you'll see the recoil is still as messy as in CS1.6/CS:S:

I wonder how the console crowd is supposed to compete though. Do they have to play with mouse adapters or do they get auto-aim? I'm guessing auto-aim, but they better make sure this is rock-solid!
I wonder how though. It's not like they have a lot of gameplay-savvy CS pros at hand. Maybe from the xbox1 port of CS1.6? Halo pros? Are there even Halo pros?
Anyway, I think crossplatform play is
awesome so I welcome this as much as anybody could welcome it, but I really hope they get this right.
EDIT: Or do the bastards mean PC can play against Mac? Zips? You got your finger on the pulse, right? Any info on this?
