I noticed today that the countdown servers are at an all time low for RO2. I'm confident that the game's traffic will pick up with the new patch fixing issues for many of the players, but I think the main game type for most RO2 players right now is territory.

Now, don't get me wrong, I do love territory. However, my heart holds a special place for countdown and it really pains me to see it being ignored as it is. So I've prepared a steam group for anyone who likes CD to join in hopes of gathering all the fans together. With enough, we'll be able to play together and fully appreciate Countdown! :IS2:

In short:
Join us if...

-You appreciate the difficulty of Countdown
-You love playing the game type
-You are searching for more people to play with

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/RO2Countdown<- I think alot of people are missing the group link.

Its all i really played during the beta, loved it even if could be a little frustrating and lacking fluidity. Just can't find countdown servers now, far and few between :(

The end goal of this group is to gather enough players to join a server and play countdown together, so you're in exactly the right place :)

I actually enjoy countdown with two focused teams. However, on an average pub server it is a campfest, and about as entertaining as watching paint dry :)

IT is a good game mode.

Only problem is it is easier for newer players to understand the maps and duties through territory first.

I was playing countdown on pavlovs house i think...and it says..Attack Zabs house...but im like...wher the F is Zabs house... by the time i find out where it is...as i go there i get shot then i watch for the next 5 minutes.

Also if you miss what the objective is... Attacking or defending it can be confusing. (even though the min map states it)

But yeh... once people know the maps and the order of objectives they will start finding the single life countdown more interesting and will probably build later.

One thing i have not seen is single life Territory... that would be Cool if you had 64 players with no countdown clock on the objectives....and mutual objectives...ie: the final goal is to capture everything. I would really like that...but maybe i wouldnt...thinking about it getting people to attack would be tricky.

In the future countdown will be our clans main gametype

Simply because for realism purposes we dont believe in respawn

But for population purposes at the moment and until everyone has the ranking up out of their systems we are running 2 territory servers and 1 countdown which our members generally play on with a few countdown loving pubbers, but it does lack population at the moment due to territory being like because of the respawning

You are more than welcome to come and play with us

The key to enjoy CD in public. Make sure you have something to do while you are dead, either in the steam in-game web browser or a physical thing at your comp =). Like, do some math or whatever (you can never know too much math).

I love Countdown. I like the brutal balanced pace of it. I don't like being dead, but there's always reinforcements, and countdowns don't really last so long.

Countdown is really great as competitive gamemode. My clan plays it nearly every day and have fun, however they miss territory 8 vs 8+ more and more.

For public play: Territory, 16 vs 16+.

Countdown is great in smaller groups of people that you know/trust to be decent players. It's not so great for public play, though.

I would like to see more CD-only servers, and servers that run a mix of TE and CD. Countdown is alot different than Territory and once players get accustomed to the TE map play, they will welcome the new gameplay that CD has to offer.

joined - countdown to me really feels like THE ro2 game mode, wish i could find a solid server running it exclusively

that being said, the lure of unlock xp will probably draw ppl towards respawn modes unless they adjust CD xp gains to account for its pace... now there's an idea!

if they change it so u get zero experience from everything but taking the objectives .. then ppl would move .. and gain exp over time the longer u stay in the square..

Only thing I dislike in countdown is duration being too short, but apparently this can be modified server side.
