So this morning I tried something different. I tried to change my Countdown map into a Countdown S&D. So instead of capture terrain the team had to destroy an objective. So I gave both teams and engineer and added satchel objectives with a ROPlacebleVolume. Took out the normal objective in the Kismet logic and gave it a Satchelobjective. Added countdowntime and of we went.

It did not work as i want. I can destroy the objective but there wont be a restart after they destroyed the objective. I might look further.
I guess these Satchelobjective are additional objectives. I need to turn them into some main objective.

My theory was the attacking team also had to defend the engineer :D
As he provided the charge to destroy the objective.

While in office you could try to look to your right. If there is a blind wall. look tot he left. If there is a blind wall too. They gave you the worst room of the building. Then look over your shoulder. You probably see some TWI coder hanging at the coffee machine. His weekend just started so he has time enough for to post some directions so we can make it work.

can you somehow combine it to two locations to place the bomb. The biggest thing of S&D over countdown is that countdown is too limited in attack and defend options.

If you have 2 or 3 places where a bomb must be placed then you get much more dynamic gameplay.

Important to remember that these satchels cant be diffused, meaning unlike CODs Search and destroy, you CANNOT afford to let the bomb get planted, so you have to design maps bearing in mind that attacker advantage.

Mind you, if you had mostly somewhat competitive/serious players playing this mod/mut/map, then it could be great - every entrance to the bomb site is to be watched, and communication would be key!

Bomb disarm isn't necessarily important, because it's not like just anyone on the attacking team can plant a bomb. Satchels are limited in availability. It's more of a VIP Escort or Baton Relay game mode, really.

This sounds interesting. I'll take a peek at the code side of it and see what might be needed.

I've been working on something similar too. Except that instead of having 1 engineer in the team, there is only 1 bomb that can be picked up in the map and has to be planted. For the moment, I'm planning on having multiple targets to spawn in the map and you need to destroy 1 of those before the time runs out.
