Just looking at the recent flury of posts lately that take a dim view of RO2; kinda of curious if some of these posters are actually competitors in the software market and trying to diminish Red Orchestra and its sales especially in light of the upcoming christmas season. A lot of posters seem genuine but others seem to say things that are out of character for the game content or never even played the game. One posting said he could not play RO1 cause of latency issues but could play RO HoS? that is just one example and also see alot of them are recent forum members. Not that being a recent forum member is a negative but I know it can be a marketing strategy to destroy your competitors in the marketplace by using this type of media. TWI? care to comment?

Why ask Tripwire?

How would they know who these people are anymore than you or I?

They have IP Addresses but that's about it.

It's possible some of these people are in here just to troll away and try their best to make RO2 sound like the worst game ever, but then again, it could be something else.

But if that is the case, maybe I should self-entitle myself as Tripwire's un-official guard dog, let me off my leash and I'll run off to other forums for the other games and troll them and trash their game....... maybe I'll get a commission

Check out BF3 forums. Exactly the same thing happening there, even to a larger degree.

It's just the world today.

I don't think anyone needs to waste money on hiring trolls. There's more than enough people out there that are happy to do it for free. It's just the sad state of many gaming communities now-a-days.

Actually its just the sad state of the entire developed world. The assumptions that our laws are based on no longer exist. Therefore complaining is rampant.
People expect perfection from everything in their lives. They watched lots of soapie documentaries on TV and expect that TV is true! ;)

Can you imagine them actually going to war?
I can hear them saying things like:

a) Wait my gun is supposed to be issued as an m16 with scope... also this has dirt on it. I pay taxes damn you.
Sorry sir its all we have got, DEAL with it!!!!
b) Historically there are not supposed to be any enemy soldiers here. Please go away enemy. My spawn count has not finished and I should be protected for 5 more seconds.

Well that was a useless rant :)

But who is complaining about the complainers? dar Dar DAAAARRRR

Are you serious?

The guys at EA and Activision definitely need to start trolling and sabotaging the developer of a game that peaked at 9,000 players. Tripwire must be taking a substantial portion of their sales and playerbase. That's just too great a threat. I'm sure both companies are increasingly employing numerous sabotage agents now, with the sole purpose of perusing the Tripwire Interactive forums and posting nasty things about their game.

Me and many others are sleeper agents. We spent years gaining the trust of these forums and on RO2s release we were activated by EActivison. TW themselves were infiltrated as well. Their lead game designer convinced the team that unlocks and leveling would fit well in RO.

Yes, OP, it's really Elvis and Jim Morrison. They've been sleeper spies since the 70's. They were just activated to sabotage TWI Christmas sales vis-a-vis venomous internet postings. Very covert stuff. Be careful. They now have your IP address, and may be approaching your door as I type this.

HURRY! Run out the back! Matt Bourne will contact you on the gas station pay phone with instructions in 1.5 hours. Good luck!

Guys, if you see Jimmy Hoffa tell him 2 Pac and Bigfoot wanted to go pony trecking to Amelia Ernheart's house to discuss the 9/11 conspiracy with the Bermuda Triangle and the Illuminati.

Does RO2 even have direct competitors? Even if it did, the RO2 community is so tiny its not worth the effort.

i wouldnt be surprised if you asked EA/Activision/Big Publishers/etc what they thought about Red Orchestra youd be met with the reply: "Red what?"

I doubt many people have heard about this game.

RO was a niche game.
The RO vets basically kept the game alive for so long.
So you understand why so much animosity against RO2 and it's arcadish gaming feel to it.
Then from what I've gathered on the forums, it seems like those gruntled with RO1's uniquity are bigger fans of RO2.
I'm not sure it's because of RO2's conformity to the gaming norm, but that's what I see.
Then there are those who just like it.

But getting back to the point, yeah it's a small niche base, and not everybody knows about it. With the disgruntled RO vets gone, it's even less.
May be it will pick up some inquisitive minds, but who knows.

Or maybe your're one of those very people and you're just trying to cover your tracks hmm? Don't deny it, we know who you really are, Mr Kotick.

I figured it out all by my self, there's your perp boys. And all before lunch too:cool:.

given how few people (relatively) play RO2, i think it would be ridiculous to consider that other companies would be wanting to snipe playerbase from what exists here..

bit of a silly thread.

No.

This game has major problems. My PC spec is comfortably above the minimum spec required and i continue to get crashes of a wide variety: freeze crashes, crash to desktop and even the occasional PC restart crash.

The annoying thing is that there is a good game in there somewhere, but it seems to have been shipped without adequate beta testing. With the early rush sales going through, what is in it for TW to fix the many, many problems for disgruntled customers?

Competitors (companies that shift many more units) wouldn`t bother to trifle with such tactics. It would be like Walmart acknowledging a corner shop.

That must be it, I can't think of any other explanation.
