So far I am having a blast!

I really like countdown but I don't like how fast the dead bodies vanish off the screen. I feel if we had an option to keep the corpses as long as we like, everyone would be very happy!

Especially me. :D

Anyone know whether a you can tweak files to keep bodies around longer, or is it a serverside or nonexistent option?

I can't remember how it was done in KF (UT 2.5) but you could control how long corpses stay around. I think it took a mutator. The hits to performance though are pretty major and can be exponential.

he's right, think of it this way. 64 players, they all day at some point and you respawn now theres like 128 player models around, then they die then it just keeps doubling you know? It wo uld hinder it quite a bit possibly.. but I don't know.. World War 2 Online has bodies that stay around for quite a long time so you know where danger is.. "this is a MMO ww2 simulator game with planes, tanks, AA, AT, infantry all realistically simulated in an mmo environment" and it doesn't take a performance hit at all.. SO i'm not sure.

Corpse cover

Corpse cover

I believe Alan Wilson said if enough corpses pile up you could take cover behind them.
Hopefully they`ll add in an option to disable corpses. It would be quite fun (and scary) to see your comrades dead on the ground as you fight your way through.

Yeah, the graphics are pre-2000 too :p

Concerning the bodies...some people would have it, some others wouldn't...so some people would see behind the bodies while people with the "bodies stay" activated would suffer from getting shot at while thinking they're hidden.

If you're going to have bodies act as cover, why have them disappear after like 20 seconds?
Imagine this:
You're in an intense firefight and most of your squad has been wiped out, those who are alive have run into the building to heal and the MG gunner that took down 3 or so of your comrades has just finished reloading and opens fire on your position, the only cover within viable distance is your comrades fallen corpses. You prone behind the corpses and hope you live to tell the tale. Suddenly *poof!* your cover disappears and you're gunned down just like your friends were.
