I want to suggest a test in the beta with the following function: If you stay within 20 metres or closer of any friendly, you have more ammo available to you (the idea is that you support each other and have more potential that way). In all other cases you only have half a loadout. This would encourage some form of cooperation between players.

As an additional idea, i prefer reduced loadouts to really distinguish the better players. So players staying on their own would get 10 rifle rounds (and moving in a group 20 rounds). Similarly smg would get 2 and 4 mags.

I think that would be rather unrealistic, unnecessary and most importantly not fun :) Why would the total amount of ammo increase? Currently it's rather difficult to run out of ammo if you're not spending them to supress constantly. Also it wouldn't enhance the gameplay in any way and would only discourage people to use flanking attacks. Team play is already the most effective and fun way to play so I don't think it needs any artificial bonuses.

I'd like to see maps where maybe one side is much lower on ammo so picking dead people's ammo would be imperative.

Like few soviets get rifle and some get 1 clip and they need to charge the enemy position with many tickets :p ?

But if you look at the average time a player stays alive, its too short to test ammo management. Effectively, you have unlimited ammo. The game is only an abstraction of certain aspects, and one of them should be effective fire mandated by limited ammo per spawn.

To clarify, half of your ammo is (in a way) kept on your team mates. If you are near them when you reload, you will take a new mag from them. If you are not, you take from your own pouch. This way you are not forced to constantly stick with someone else, but you should still watch your team or work together with others.

3D VOIP and having the squad selection menu default are about the only other things in my opinion that even have a small chance of encouraging teamwork. I would say the game does just about everything else it can and what is left has more to do with the players and their own attitudes and game play style.

Your suggestion has the potential to punish good team players who are stuck with a bunch of lone wolf/COD kiddy type squad mates who run off and do their own thing regardless of what incentives you throw at them.

That makes about as much sense as the poster who called reinforcements "tickets". (Kind of shows you where he comes from.....)

Teamwork with complete strangers can be one of the most rewarding aspects of multi-player gaming, imo. Unfortunately, the problem with many of today's gamers is that they all know how to play the game better than the next guy. (too many chiefs, not enough Indians). I couldn't count the times 12-20 year olds have espoused gaming, map strategy and military strategy to me. Ordering me this way and that. In the spirit of gaming and team-play, I'll often go along (knowing full well what the outcome is likely to be). After complete and utter failure, we come to find out they've only had the game for a week or two (and I'm not referring to the RO series only.)

Sometimes its better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt. That little tidbit of wisdom seems fall upon deaf ears.....

I would rather like idea that different classes could spare their ammo with each other.
For an example riflemen could spare some of their ammo with other riflemen who have almost or completely burned their ammo. Same with people who got SMGs and semi-auto rifles. They could spare a mag with each other.

I know that most of the people probably see this kind of feature unnecessary, because 90% of the players die before they have wasted even half of their ammo, but I would like it, because playing especially as a defender I have had these moments when I have almost burned all my rifle ammo and the enemy attack is still coming strong and the nearest ammo box is like 100 m away. At moments like those I would just love to have a nearby player who could spare me a clip or 2.

I could see voluntarily sharing ammo as being a good thing.
