I wouldn't mind having the option to drive the tank / aim the turret using the joystick. You may even be able to aim as it is, but I'm pretty sure you can't drive with it.

Specifically, if throttle is ever implemented, I'll like to see the option for joystick / throttle. Right now I've got split throttle* which would be great for controlling tank speed. Direction would be through the joystick, and the HAT / mouse for looking around.

Anyways, just a thought.

*My pipe dream would be either to have the split throttle act as the right and left steering levers (still need a separate throttle) or right throttle as the engine throttle and left throttle for gears.

I was thinking that some tanks had the trigger for the main gun as pedal... or it's just bs?

I can imagine that you could do that (set up your controls to work with a joystick) however, at least in the mod, moving and firing controls are shared with infantry control... and that would indeed be an odd fps with a joystick setup...

Hence the option. In many sims, you can typically assign both key commands and joystick commands to the same function.

Ahh... did not catch that... I get what you ment now... Having an option to configure your game any way you want is always a good thing.
