My ping is lo, however, when i play KF i constantly lag when i move, when i look around it doesnt lag, only when i move in a direction i am glitching around at a constant rate, it is only in multiplayer no matter what my ping singleplayer is fine.

I kno it is nothing to do with my internet, and i hav opened all of the specified ports and all that,

im also still trying to deal with the timeout problem, where evryone walks in a direction, but i reconnect and it is fine so no big issue wih that, just the lag is really annoying.

any help is appreciated.

Any other suggestions?
Cheers.

K so i went on css, and when i moved it didnt lag, so im not sure if it is my internet, and why would i hav low ping if my connection was bad, and if it is my connection what can i do to correct it, becuase i know the actual speed of my internet is fast enough. cheers.

Editing the values in the .ini could maybe help. :eek:

Yeah, open the killing-floor folder, and search for user.ini. Then open it with wordpad and look for this:

[Engine.Player]
ConfiguredInternetSpeed=10000
ConfiguredLanSpeed=20000

I have no problem with those settings, but try to boost them up.

IIRC the 2 settings he mentioned are in Options ingame. Could try configuring them from there.

You also mentioned you keep disconnecting, probably the 'Disconnect after 10 second bug'.

What router do you have?

For the disconnect issue, you're on Be Internet so you probably have a Be Box router - look in the stickied thread for a potential fix. For the lag, in your pingtest you have 1% packet loss - you should have 0. Potentially this might just be a one-off problem, but it is worth looking into. Packet loss suggests something wrong with your connection. In Killing Floor you can look at the network stats by pressing F6 which should show if packet loss is an issue.

Cheers lads, but no, im on o2 internet, and have the o2 wireless box II.
So it might be a problem with packet loss? i press f6 and the green writing came up and it said 3 out on packetloss most of the time. how can i make my internet not lose packets? whatever that is.

and maybe its the 10 second disconnect problem, is that where it all stops and everyone and all the specimens jus walk in one direction forever until they hit something but it is still as if they are moving?

Would be great if sum1 could help me fix these connectivity problems,
Cheers.

The o2 box has the same problem as the Be box, as they are essentially the same thing, so the same fix applies. As far as packet loss is concerned, something with either your ISP, router, or computer is causing information (packets) to be lost or discarded when being sent or received. This could be for many reasons, but it is worth making sure that your computer's network drivers are up to date. Usually however it is either a case of your router not working properly (getting overloaded or just blocking packets for some reason) or some kind of fault with your internet service. You could talk to o2 and tell them you are getting packet loss when you try running a ping test and see what they say, or you could have a look if your router has any diagnostic tools (doubtful). Of course the other possibility is that you are on wireless and the wireless connection is causing packets to be dropped.

Cheers morello, yeah anyway i think it is these powerline ethernet bridges i use are cuasing the packet loss, when i can, im going to plug a ethernet cable straight into the o2 box and see if there is still any packet loss.

Delete system 32, it'll make it run faster with no errors at all.

Disclaimer: This is not actually going to do what i said and will actually screw with your pc. I strongly advise you not to do this as this was intended for jokes purpose only.

Don't listen to him unless you want to have to reinstall Windows. You don't want to do that.
