Constant crashing problem!!

Since about 2 updates ago my game has locked up my computer completely during multiplayer matches at random times. When it locks up the audio buzzes loudly, the screen freezes, and I can't close the program. The only thing I can do is force a hard shut down. The lockup occurs sometimes after only a few minutes in a server, and sometimes after hours.

My pc is an asus k52jr laptop with an i5, 4 gigs of ddr3, and an ati mobility radeon hd5470 with 1 gig of ddr3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance..

You've had your game update but you still don't see servers or have connection issues?

Try going to your killingfloor/system folder and deleting the entire system folder and letting steam regenerate it from the new build. Some configuration settings might not have been reset which are keeping you from receiving changes in the update.

Tried rightclicking on KF in Steam and doing 'Verify Game Cache'?

I've tried 'verify game cache' and I've also unistalled KF and reinstalled. Last night it happened about 4 times. After that I went to play L4D2 and tried to see if anything would happen in that game, and nothing happened. My computer performed perfectly. So far it has only been hulu and now KF that will do this to my pc. Any help is appreciated.

Does it happen during Solo too?

Those sort of symptoms seem to be more common with a hardware fault. Not that there is a totally logical link in this scenario. See if it's when you're utilizing the net, that the crashes/hangs occur.

It never happens during solo. Only multiplayer. I could be playing or even just spectating when the crash happens. Thank you!!

I've defragmented my pc. Every driver is up to date....

Look in c:\windows\minidump and you may find files in there dated at the times that you had the crashes. If you put the last few into a zip file and upload them here, or link them, then I will see what they say.

Every driver is up to date....

Double check the network drivers to be safe.

I updated my network drivers (thank you) and I also updated my BIOS and i haven't had the problem since! Thanks so much for all of the help.
