I seriously hope it never happens. Killing Floor on console that is. No matter how popular Killing Floor gets. If it were to go on PS3 or Xbox: Hard difficulty on PC would = HEO on PS3/Xbox. Furthermore, I think 90% of console gamers are incapable of cooperation.

I know it probably will never ever happen but I just had a weird thought of Killing Floor with a PS3 logo on the box and shuddered at the thought

So, feel free to post your opinions on what you think KF would be like on console.

Also, to expand this thread a bit more, what do you guys think a "console COD gamer" would do if he/she were locked in a room with Killing Floor and a PC?

a) Crack the s***s and just playing with a paddle and a rubber ball
b) Bang his/her head on the wall saying "Derrr why wonnt this gam werkkkk?"
c) Blame the lag
d) Blame the keyboard's functionality and opt for an xbox controller
e) Stare at the PC wondering how to turn it on.
f) Other: Please specify

Enjoy :)

Since Tripwire have never indicated that they have any intention of porting Killing Floor to any consoles I don't really see the point in this thread. Does the internet really need another PC elitist post where people attempt to ridicule each other based on their choice of computer game platform? Contrary to popular belief among PC gaming forums, not everyone who owns a console is some sort of drooling, gibbering imbecile. In fact, it's even possible to own a PC and a console at the same time! Hard to believe I know...

Blame the lag for sure, or maybe they would search for aimbot hacks to aid in there inabilty to aim with a mouse. Only dissing 100% console gamer's of course, not people that have a console and a computer.

If TWI sees porting KF to consoles as a lucrative move I say go for it. I'm not a console gamer myself so personally I could care less, but if there's a market for the game then I say go for it. More exposure is a good thing.

A lot of PC gamers really seem to have some deep hatred against the consoles (partially why PC gamers get a bad rep on the internet and in general) and I honestly don't understand why. As long as it's not interfering with the quality of the PC version I could care less what they play. Killing Floor coming to the Xbox 360 or PS3 will not result in dedicated servers and the SDK disappearing. They play, we play, and we're all happy. :)

I think the bad blood between PC and Console gamers is from the "Elitist Console Gamers" and the "Elitest PC Gamers" always bashing one another. It's all just gobbledygook (Yes, goblin language as a matter of fact) and senseless arguing over the fact that people are different.

Oh btw I got nothing against consoles. Just (more specificly) people who think that FPS >>MUST<< and only be played on console. And even more specificly those who devote their lives to COD on PS3.

But back to the point: a game of this caliber should remain PC FPS imo. Just because the skill level required for the game is quite large. I let my 13yr old cousin have a shot on my account (bear in mind that he was playing with my lvl 6 perks and is a regular to fps on PC). He lasted 2 or 3 waves on normal. I've heard many say that Killing Floor is a very elite game.

So to transfer over to console: the zombie strength, speed, numbers per wave and difficulty would have to drop dramatically for console fps player to have any chance. So, in the future if TWI were to exapand, they would have to implement this.

Personally I could not see anyone with an analog controller lasting more than a wave on hell on earth as it currently is.

Lol, I remember a thread similar to this, foloowing the same sort of progression, but the Original question was a little different.

I agree that Killing Floor should be left for PC and I agree with not all console gamers a re noobs, and not all PC gamers are pros. My problem is when a developer starts focusing on console after having done so well on PC, for example, COD 4. Brilliant in nearly every aspect in terms of multiplayer. Originally designed for PC, arrived on console later (correct me if i'm wrong).

Then we have COD 6, aimed for console and PC was the sidenote. There is a huge difference in quality between these games. No dedicated servers, random hosts, divided community due to badly done DLC implementation and choice, you could not come up with a bigger disaster for PC. Consoles loved it. And guess what, Modern Warfare 3 is apparently following the same suit. Hence i havent bought any COD's since 6 and don't plan on it. There all the same anyway

This is the problem, you can have games come out on multiple platforms, but as soon as that starts affecting the quality of the game, that's where the problem comes in and I want to avoid that at all costs. :(

However, Tripwire stated in thge other thread like this that if they were to bring Killing Floor 2 out on console, it would be done properly and to a high standard, and I have all faith in that. :D

I hope TWI takes note of this/already intended to do so, but:

I believe that FPS should first and foremost be PC-oriented, since it allows for a better experience in the playing.

I have Borderlands, and playing it with a friend, the lack of DedSer really ground my gears.

When playing glorious Killing Floor, i can jump right onto a DedSer and do so via Steam; no need for spending half an hour trying to connect.

IMO a game is always better on PC, since the controls are better, the graphics can and often do exceed console, and the PC-only devs offer a higher standard of game compared to the multiplat/PC-afterthought devs.

As said before, in this thread and the other threads just like it, the difficulty would be nerfed so hard just to make a long game on HoE playable on consoles. Then they'd probably have to get rid of the glorious voice commands, since everyone would be using a mic :(. And add in autoaim/aim assist, since console controls aren't good for aiming at all.

First of all, Console KF players and PC KF Players would never be allowed on the same server, for the simple fact that a Keyboard + Mouse combo outperforms a console controller. This is why you do not see PC gamers on Console servers of the same game and vice versa. Knowing this, I am somewhat ambivalent about a console release, because I know that the skill required (due solely to the control interface) would differ between versions, but the two would never mix, however I would be somewhat concerned that there would be an incredible influx of M16 suggestion threads.

Id like to compose a rant for this space, but its unproductive, suffice it to say, I dont mind console gamers, or the games they play. I prefer PC as a platform however.

What he is saying about PC is true, it outperforms consoles in almost all situations, but the way he comes across is why console gamers look at us and say we are a bunch of arrogant di*&s. It is people like that that give us a bad name :( No matter whether he is right or not, that attitude he has is just dodgy

Sadly KF and numerous PC games couldn't work on console for 1 simple reason. Lag.

I have all 3, Xbox, PS3, PC, and I do play all 3 every now and again. There are games that just work well on a console, such as Fifa, Devil May Cry, Gears of War, Dynasty Warriors, etc. There are plenty of games that work better on a pad than a mouse and keyboard.

The only reason I avoid console games as much I do is the lack of dedicated servers. It would be less annoying if they actually gave you a ping to go off to adjust your play accordingly, instead of that crappy coloured bar.

Pings on console generally are 80+ and that is considered "green". On PC I won't even touch a server if its over 50. Couploe the lag with host advantage and each time you die it feels liek the game robbed you rather than getting beaten by skill.

Games like MAG which do actually have dedi's are actually very fun to play, even though the rule of thumb is PC = FPS win hands down. I truly believe that if consoles were given support for dedicated servers, the wall between PC and console gaming would come down a significant whallop.

For the record the guy in the video that I posted is Athene, a former top ranked WoW and Poker player. He's not 100% serious in any of his videos and basically just a troll who does it for fun.

Yes, I play all of my games on the PC and have no interest in the consoles but it definitely isn't superior in *every* way. Not everyone wants to spend $800+ to build a half decent PC, not everyone wants to waste time looking through server lists, downloading custom maps, tweaking their system, etc. Some people want to just sit on their couch, put a game in and play. There's a reason why the console player base is so much bigger than that on the PC. Not every console gamer prefers it because they're 10 years old and can't afford a PC. PC's have their strengths, consoles have their strengths, so play whatever platform appeals to you the most.

My brother (a lifelong console gamer) just got a gaming PC recently and said he's already sick of PC gaming. He complains about too many egos, how it's a pain to look through servers, and that none of the pros (better communities, latency, mouse and keyboard, etc) really appeal to him. He just wants to sit down on a couch and play a game with as little hassle as possible, and his Xbox 360 satisfied those needs for him.

So my point is neither is better. Play what you want and be happy with that. Sure, I'm disappointed when companies water down games on the PC for console appeal; this is the primary reason why I'm looking forward to Red Orchestra 2 despite having a background in the complete opposite type of games (Unreal, Quake, TF2, etc).

But yeah, using a gamepad for Killing Floor does not appeal to me at all! :D
