So I've done everything possible to ensure that the appropriate ports are open on my firewall and my router. But, I still can't connect to any multiplayer games. I think it is an issue of my new internet provider/router. KF worked just fine before I moved to my new place and now, as I said, every attempted connection fails.

Unfortunately, I have to use a wireless router as my two roommates need internet as well. So suggestions that I plug directly into the modem isn't really a sustainable fix.

Any and all suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

I would try it without the router for troubleshooting. If it works without the router then you know where to look at least...

also, did you make sure your ports are forwarded to the correct ip address?

At the moment, I don't have an ethernet cable long enough to test it! But, I'm not sure how to forward ports to the correct IP address. I'm not the router's admin. so, I might need specifics to tell my roommate. Thanks!

This thread gives you the ports you need to forward:

Incidentally, one thing to check also on your router is whether or not DHCP (Dynamic IP for LAN) is on. If you're constantly shifting IP addresses, opening the ports won't help. Ask your buddy to either help you assign a preferred (only on some modems/routers/switches) or a static IP address.

Hope that helps.

PS - Wireless is a black art at the best of times. I'm pretty sure it's a Horzine invention...
