Tripware, i think this is going to be like TF2; I'll explain better, when something new comes out people use to argue or complain without faceing that feature before just because they fear something ( that wont gonna happen, because it's studied by dev already ). It's in the human nature to " hate " something not used to. If you take a little look on the official TF2 forum you will see a lot of haters and complainers arguing just for the pleasure of doing it, without having a real objective eye or any kind of experience, often forcing Valve to change their stuff just to shut complainers. This ruined a lot of things.

Now, here, we have a step forward in the netgaming: your avatar shouting automatically in a smart way ( he wont shout if your team members aint near by ). This feature is awesome because makes you feel in the real battlefield, when people used to shout for this or that to let friends know what's happening to you or during that or this situation. This makes you feel like you were there, makes characters alive, breathing, dying, makes you feel emotions... a real experience, what this game have to makes you to feel, and not just a light run and gun enjoyment ( leave that to other game and other kind audience ).

Removing this feature or revisiting it will be like taking off your panties and show your naked arses to sniper-omg-stealth-balaclavas-kids willing.

This game is based on teamwork and in a 64 players server probably you ll never be alone somewhere in a map, so, removing that will be stupid and will ruin the complete experience.

Plase Tripware think twice about listening all your community members and their suggestions ( complaining )

Well considering it can be quite a huge issue, this i not exactly just "complaining" for nothing. I've found the issue of avatars shouting random stuff out of my control extremely annoying, its something new that first popped up as a replacement for "voice comms" for console folks.

And it doesn't exactly help to promote competitive play or anything , were these kinda random things could ruin everything.

I've never played in a clan or competitively, but I've heard them saying that they don't like random stuff happening. That's one example of a random stuff happening so it might be a problem for competitive play.

Plus, I can give you 20 situations where I'd avoid this battle chatter if I had the option. YES, TWI said that it depends on the number of allies and the distance, but that system is not smart enough to work the way it needs in 100% situations: It might be a problem when you flank with a few friends, and you wanna go silent.
Or it might be a problem when you're holding a cap, and suddenly you stop yelling phrases, the enemy will know that you're alone out there.

It's sad that TWI has put so much work into recording all the lines and into the engine that'll generate all the chatter, but it does seem to be a huge issue.
