Wave 1, me commando, teammate medic.

Things are going pear shaped. I chuck two grenades just as zed time hits. The first flies clear and lands in the middle of a pack. It's gonna be nice.

The second grenade bounces off the face of a clot right in front of me and seems to just hover there in mid air while we're in the slowmo of zedtime.

Ruh roh, that can't be good!

I spin 180 and start to run before it goes off but I'm not moving OMFG WHY AM I NOT MOVING!? AAAH I THINK THE CLOT GRABBED M...**BOOM**

Medic died shortly thereafter..from being overwelhmed with no real offense, or from laughter. Not sure which.

I recommend using your knife for clot control!

I find your lack of win disturbing.

The fail is strong with this one.

Yeah it was on that Doom map. I've had it catch me off guard on wave 1 a couple times now. The layout causes some really big crowds to build up offscreen then surprise you.

I never die on later waves though. 10 maybe.

Other contributing factors (beyond just having my head up my butt): I'm the only one with any gun other than a pistol and there is NO ammo to be found on that map. 1/2 an AK didn't last long and we were kiting w/ 9mm in a large circle in the blue room and about to head back out the door when a fresh crowd came in.

But yeah it was comedy gold. I was still in shock over "OMG how are we in trouble on 1?" when the slowmo floating grenade appeared.

A little question: Is it true, when you'r Support Specialist with 11 grenades, when you spam them at a mid distance is it possible for you to die? When the nads are exploding in row back to me?

Yup, well not all 11, Just for the argument, lets say your nades detonate by the time u throw the 3rd grenade, Like if you throw 2 nades, and when they are about to explode, the 3rd will detonate in mid air along with the other 2. But if u spam ALL 11, the 1st 3 nades that you throw will detonate then the next 3 that you throw, with the 3rd nade always exploding in mid air, which of course WILL damage you. Even if you throw them in succession there will be that 1-2 nades that WILL explode in mid air.

Also just to add to the pain, the grenades will combine damage in a way you don't expect.

Picture a Venn diagram, two circles partially overlapping representing the blast radius of two grenades. You would expect each grenade to do normal damage but then the area where they intersect to be double damage right? Wrong.

Turns out that the entire blast radius of *each* grenade gets the damage of *both* grenades...or more if you have many of them in a row.

This has bad consequences if you chain an explosion back to you, but can also be used to your advantage.

Husk can pop grenades just after they leave your hand too, so careful with him.

Answer to the grenade question as well:

At maximum throwing speed: (spamming the key)

1 Grenade - Safe.

2 Grenades - Safe.

3 Grenades - Safe, but getting dangerous.

4 Grenades - You're going to feel this one, a lot.

5 Grenades - KABOOM.

That's my experience with them. Also, watch Flesh Pounds when you toss grenades at them, they have AI which directs them to find an alternate path to avoid the grenade. This is because 'back in the day' multiple people throwing grenades at the Flesh Pound was the optimal way to kill it...or watch someone die by the above.

EDIT:

Also the M79 can detonate in your hands if you're on fire from the husk and pull the trigger. By extension I believe the M32 and possibly the LAW are in the same boat, but I've only ever blown myself apart with the M79. (Lesson Learned)
