I think I played it once but I can barely remember. What I remember is that I had no crosshair and I think no hud(except for the rank-o-meter) and I died very soon. I then left the server because it had FF on, atm I prefer servers with FF off.

Sounds Hardcore....

IIRC the hardcore mode has no hud, it only takes a few shots to kill (an m16 burst is enough to kill) no nade indicators and i think there is a short respawn time (i only tried it on TDM).

I only try and play on the hardcore servers, the regular ones re just frustrating.

Wow I have to say I've never had so much fun in my life as I did tonight! Only server I seem to be able to connect is just TDM with hardly anyone on but I still had a blast!!

Im getting amazing performance and the gfx seem better on the online maps then SP!! Awesome!!

Cant wait to try the other modes!

Am I the only one who finds sniping to be quite hard? Because basically you have to stop breathing for 5sec before you can get off a clear shot(mid-long range). I still find it entertaining though, already got the M40A3 Award.

As someone who played the sniper back in the mod days I remember how to compensate for the sway. Over at my friend's house playing on his 360 he saw me sniping and questioned how I was doing that...

It also helps me out if I want to replay the first splinter cell.

Ya know, I went through the entire first splinter cell game and only found out at the very end that you could switch the fn2000 rifle to full auto... its like, "holy cow I can put this in full auto? *bang* bad guy dead, game over"

Yeh been playing it o hardcore all day (for the last 6 hours to be precise!) and if you're used to RO then you wont find it 'hardcore' at all!

It plays just perfect!

My favourite weapon so far is the M4 with red dot site and digital camo!

My favourite perk by far is dropping a nade on death. So funny!!

Why not? You've unlocked them so off course you can use em!

OK I am probably stupid but I'll ask anyway.....

HOW do you get this "hardcore" mode? In server browser all I see are six game types, ie free for all (DM), TDM, sabotage, domination, HQ and S&D.

I can's see any hardcore anywhere... I've also heard there is an "old school" mode with health packs scattered a la COD1 etc.

How do you get those modes?

Not really helpful. What's VC? Nam? Vietnam? Sorry I don't understand a thing. You're probably referring to games I haven't played.

How do I SEE and JOIN a "hardcore" COD4 server as mere mortal - a step by step guide if needs be, thanks.

It doesn't show up in the filters AFAIK. Your best bet is to look for servers with "Hardcore" in it's name.
