Woah, hold everything you guys! Use the cars "Achilles heel." Make it so you can shoot the tires. You won't see so much complaining going on eh?

Tires were solid and resistant to bullet damage.

And regarding the above photo: that's great! Now remove the turret from the BA-64 in game, make it more vulnerable to fire and cause the occupants fall off and be seriously injured if the car drives on anything other than an improved road. Then you'll have a point about historical reality.

Germans need an armored car also if you ask me, like the Sdkfz 221 or maybe the 260/261. To balance the Germans having both a transport vehicle and an armored recon vehicle, the Russians could get the Zis-5 back.
i like to see a puma:p:pin the game

Hate to break it to you, but that shot that you thought had a pintle-mounted MG... that's actually a mounted PTRD AT rifle.

A BA-64 shot worth looking at.

Who said it was an MG. It's obviously a PTRD. But both are shots worth looking at. Notice how the turret has been removed and there is no possible way the PTRD would fit in the vehicle in the first shot. Notice in both that the vehicle is on an improved street. Notice that they are not in combat.

Please note the second example mentioning the sapper spades.

Please note that a sapper spade is....just a shovel!

Twice yesterday I survived hits from tank shells while crusing around in my funky clown car. I find it hard to believe that is realistic.

Also.. what's "enemy clown car spotted!" in german? ;)

Well, that's why you should address your sniping with a quote or to a particular person, rather than the thread in general. For example:

That PTRD is clearly not "mounted" on the armored car. It appears to simply be propped up with its bipod on the armor rim where the turret used to be, because the car is being used as an improvised transport so the soldier doesn't have to hump the damn thing. The PTRD clearly can't fit inside the vehicle. Unless the soldier plans on firing the AT rifle from the hip, it looks like he would have to climb out of the vehicle to take proper aim anyways, not that the vehicle would be taken in to combat like that.

IMO The best way to fix the clown cars is to make the Wheels vulnerable to Small-Arms fire.

So it appears that infantry riding on the outside of these things isnt so unrealistic after all  .

I also have intense doubts they'd do this while under fire or in combat, from the pics it's all out of combat situation they are using the car this way.

Why would any sane man sit on top of an armored car completely unprotected while it is moving, ALSO in a combat zone, where you can't take cover (unless you include diving from the vehicle which is a secondary way to be injured).

And I repeat, the wheels were solid and resistant to bullet damage. Better to make the drive components of all vehicles in game more vulnerable to damage.
