One issue with classic, due to there being no shift-zoom the knee mortar is awful to use.

But I love everything else.

Others (like me) prefer the movement like it is today. Please leave it alone and don't try to make Classic like Realism without so much autoguns and progression.
we are not trying to make the speed like in realism, not at all its to fast, but some small % tweaks for spint and stamina would be nice,
and this is why have a beta for,so we can Test stuff

...it is not fun to banzai charge,if you are dead slow after 15m...and dead is the right word

I have play some rounds at realism today (HoS)

The Speed is incedible high, I like the classic speed much more. But I would test some new speed for classic to. Not much but a little bit more like it is now.

But after playing HoS realism again I understand people who want to rename classic in hardcore, because it

The server seems to lag in Classic badly and at least on the 40-1 Classic RS server pings are about 50% higher than usual. Is it the game or the server?

Not only server 4. Might be another ddos. Seems to be stable now.
Regarding Classic speed - its one of elements creating this unique, tactical, ww2 alike experience. Changing it would need more testing. But im sure at one point - exhausted stamina speed should be increased coz right now imo is way too slow. It makes ppl feel that Classic speed is too low.

I love Classic mode, but I think what most people already said: it is too slow. Really too slow.

I know it's a mode designed for "ostfront player" (I'm also one of them :D ), but my dream is a classic mod with a different speed movement.

Sway is great, suppression is great, no help, no second zoom. Everything create a unique atmosphere. Seems too real. Except movement. Banzai charge make laugh :(

I think the sprint speed is fine in Classic. I'd be open to a higher jog speed maybe and higher speeds in general only if terrain affected the overall speed.

What annoys me the most in Realism is the high sprint speed (which is also probably enhanced by unlocks) which makes me feel like I'm trying to shoot squirrels zigzagging across streets.

You do run slower in water in RS, has anyone noticed if it changes on other terrain? I haven't played much yet.

Speed should depend on terrain.

You should run better on concrete/flat ground, slower while going up steep hills or stairs, etc. You shouldnt even be able to sprint while wading through some fairly deep swamp or lake.

I notice that on Hanto as a Japanese, I barely percieve any problems with Classic run speed. That's partially why I'd guess the exhausted sprint speed is the problem, because on Hanto, you're often running from cover to cover in short spurts--you never exhaust your stamina bar, and so the movement feels and looks natural and smooth.

On a map like Guadalcanal, though, as a Japanese, or on Saipan as an American, you're often running long distances, and that's when you feel that you're running far too slowly... because you've depleted your stamina bar and are moving at what basically amounts to a jog.

Next time you play Classic, try and be a little aware--when is the slow sprint the most noticeable? At what point do you think to yourself "I really feel like an eighty-year-old right now..."? I'll wager that it's when you're already exhausted, running on an empty stamina bar.

Looking at a Banzai charge in Classic is like watching slow motion film of a banzai charge. I find it hard to believe soldiers carrying basically just a rifle and a few round of ammo, on a adrenaline pumped suicide charge can only muster something slightly faster than a jog. It just looks really odd and unrealistic from both the perspective of the person charging and the person on the receiving end. I do hope this gets worked out at some point, as the Banzai charge is suppose to be one of the main things holding up the Japanese offensive capabilities in this game.

Other than that Classic basically works basically as well as it did in HOS.

In the hills! (of England)
Attempting to run through the rivers in Hanto leads to a speed just short of a moderately paced walk, even with full stamina. Stop sprinting and the speed is as if your guy has twisted both ankles simultaneously and is carefully limping his way through shin-deep water.

Well, at least that's how I feel about it. :p

Aw, come on now, I just tried it for laughs and it's nowhere near that bad.

Having worked as a camp counselor at a summer camp where I had to chase down many a canoe floating off the beach, it's damn hard to run through knee-deep water, and physically impossible to run through waist-deep water.

With a sprint in Classic, you can actually make a reasonable pace in water--easily faster than the normal jog on solid ground, mind you. At a flat jog in water, it's about the speed with which one walks to the refrigerator at four in the morning.

It's quite believable. I don't know how the system works, such as whether or not different depths are accounted for (I'd guess not) but it's really not that far off.

I'd like to know if it is possible to have custom server with "all classic except movement speed"? Does it give Tripwire this deeply customization?

So far I really like classic mode. It's intense as hell. Especially on the night map. Sneaking through the jungle at the side as a japanese soldier. Man, that was close to a horror feeling.

Indeed, and less SMGs for the Japanese is also a big plus (besides the regular Classic goodies).

And once again thanks to 40-1 for actually administrating their server.
