So, let's say I spent 500 hours using MG's. I'm really good at using MG's. Should I have any priority when selecting the MG class? I think it would be great! Though, I'm not sure how to implement that, but I'd definitely like that!
What do you think?

500 hours??

I think people will be lucky to get 100 hours pr. weapon for the first year or so.

Anyway I don't think it should work quite like that, will just make it harder for others who would like to start using the weapon as-well.

Ya I am guessing here, but unless you are a "hero" it should probably first come first serve.

correct me if I am wrong.

As much as I like the idea of never having to miss out on getting to play my favorite classes it would be unfair to those who aren't dedicated/hardcore gamers. Everyone was a noob once, everyone needs a chance to learn. This would take away that chance, especially with the low-count classes like Squad leader or MG.

Yea, the problem is if weapons are only ever given to those few who are highly proficient with them, then noone else will have the chance to reach that level of proficiency. I like the basic idea but I don't think this is the right way to do it.

That is one of the purposes with the firefight game type I guess, so that you can play any class you want =).
... low-count classes like Squad leader or MG.
Although... I bet not everyone can play SL? Will there be normal amounts of SL in firefight or none at all? (as you spawn on all people, not just SL)

Unless it has something to do with the Hero system, I would have to disagree. It would make it extremely hard for new players to try out new weapons in multiplayer if they get locked out because of veteran players grabbing all their choice weapon slots.

If your in a clan and you are the majority of a squad. Priorities should be down to those in the clan. Randomly giving it to whoever. Let the clan squabble over who gets what spot.

Otherwise I'm not too fussed over priorities. It's unfair just because someone put more hours into it. I would prefer some sort of rotational system

While some kind of priority weapon selection might be a good thing in some cases, the problem with this suggestion is that playing lots of hours doesn't necessarily mean that a player is the best (or even good) with that weapon.

always first come first serve. the priority is really only benifiting etlists and doesn't allow anyone else to get any practice or someone who has less hours maybe better.

the only problem with 'class priority' (certain people getting priority over choice of weapon) is that how are the non high-ranking people supposed to get a chance if others grab the weapon merely because they have more play time? seems a bit unfair because then the other people wouldnt get the chance to get a higher rating with that weapons class.

Like I said. Keep it on rotation. If 2 guys select MG then the person who hasn't been the MG gets to play it.

If it's 8 man squads and 6 of you in a clan. All clan members get priority choices on weapons to help team work.

It's unreasonable to think that one person should be allowed a sustained amount of time with one of the more limited weapons. So keep it on rotation.

Why would you give priority weapons to clans and their members??

If youre playing with a clan im assuming you all are communicating much better with each other and able to play with any combination of weapons since communication gives a big edge.

IMO make it an option for servers to have that priority selection, let the players decide how they want to play - if servers start to die out then theyll realize they have to switch to the other mode.

personally i think that a server should be able to make certain clans (there clans or otherwise) have reserved slots and clan members get priority over weapons (a server can set this by class by class basis.) :)

however it probably be best if they didn't have it just because it can be a really annoying feature for pubbers. :D

You don't have to play the whole tutorial and practice before you start playing MP. If you play some MP and then realize you want to play some with MG, you can take the MG SP course and then get a nice start in MP. You can also join a firefight server to take on the MG to practice your skills against othwer human players.

Seems like there are options for someone who want's to be aquainted with a gun =).
